Coming home to an empty home after years of the hectic days of raising children, especially if you did it alone.

I'd like to share my story and will try to keep it as short as possible.
I have read the stories on here which are all fairly similar, but mine comes from a completely different angle, I think.
Up to two years ago my whole life revolved around looking after my Severely Disabled Son. I've suffered with Depression for many, many years but just kept going, a lot of the time struggling to cope with all the problems that come with caring for someone who needed help with all aspects of their lives. I had a breakdown two years ago and my son was given respite care and thereafter was offered a placement at a Supported Living Accommodation.
So after eighteen and a half years my caring role stopped, and as well as feeling a great sense of Guilt and Sorrow for all the circumstances surrounding this, I felt empty and as though my life had stopped in its tracks, I couldn't see my reason for being here, it was like my life was over. Two years on and i'm coping much better, but still the old feelings come creeping back to haunt me.
The hardest thing ever is i can't pick the phone up and talk to my son like most of you can do with your children, my son has no speech and it's one of the worst things to deal with. So i still feel lonely and miss him so much, he does come home every other weekend, but when he goes back and i come home and see all his toys and books strewn everywhere, i feel so empty and sad again and can't tidy them away for a day or so.
Would appreciate anybodys imput and Thanks for reading.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
