Neut! Where are you? I know Trissa has been really busy moving so I'll leave her out but why is everyone else scarce these days?
I miss you all and I want to start a conversation (No offense Lev). I mean, this what's left of the dump? Say it isn't so Joe. The music below expresses how I feel these days. Please listen and enjoy. ;>)~
This room is like a bus stop now. People are coming & going too quickly to get entangled with trolls. Few are taking riba/interferon fuel for the temperament. It used to be more like an airport during a blizzard or labor strike.
I also remember that. Now that you mention it, when we were up in Rotten Groton, Connecticut building Nuclear Submarines for the US Navy, it always seemed like management was punishing some of us because we would always work outside when it freezing or snowing or raining! And when the spring and summer rolled around, we would always end up inside and in the tanks which were all at least 200 degrees F because if there was welding to be done inside any one of them and because the metal was either HY-80 or HY-100 low alloy steel of the Quenched and Tempered variety. So the metal has to be preheated to a minimum of 200 degrees F and the interpass temperature could go no higher than 300 degrees F. And that meant that we had to really monitor the temperature of the metal and after welding a rod or three, we would usually have to wait until the temperature went back down to 200 degrees F again before we could start welding again and each joint took forever to finish up in that heat!
Needless to say, none of us were overweight in those days no matter how many beers we chugged before and after our shift!
Sorry Ptriss! I thought Levicah posted the last post in this thread and so I answered it without checking if there was a page 2! I guess that's what happens when I don't frequent this place like I used to.
what you wrote about about all of these newbies coming and going is so true and now even some of the not so new post 2011 folks are in here posting and implying that they're old timers in here which is hilarious to say the least! Oh well, to each's own. bur I do miss the good old days when just about anything could be expressed about whatever we wanted until certain members who I won't name became the forum police.
It takes all kinds! It surely does. *(]:>)~
