Neut! Where are you? I know Trissa has been really busy moving so I'll leave her out but why is everyone else scarce these days?
I miss you all and I want to start a conversation (No offense Lev). I mean, this what's left of the dump? Say it isn't so Joe. The music below expresses how I feel these days. Please listen and enjoy. ;>)~
I decimated my CD collection before moving. It took months of doing it in little steps as I could stomach. Nobody does CDs now, all cyber music with no covers or inserts. It was painful! I guess I did a good job because it looks like they will all fit in my towers. Manically diverse collection. Enjoying some CDs now, got that set up. Moving is not fun but I am exceedingly happy to be here.
He he Lev, Almost panicked..fear struck..where IS that CD? As if i can never find it or hear it ever again. I went thru Garth Brooks & Sade, Pet Shop Boys & Crazy Town, Stained, Disturbed, Puddle of Mudd, Drowning Pool in quick order. Switching over to Warren Hill & Gota for today, maybe some Gato Barbieri.
I've found the "playground music" channel for my little g-g-girl. I love to sing songs to her/ with her she'll be 3 this month.
3 yrs old....I get all mushed out when I find pictures of my kids from early years....It would be a gift beyond reckoning to hold a grandchild before I go. Pure sweetness.
Yes it is, worth all it took to get here. I can't do that again, tho. That was a big move, months of stress & work. I'm surprised I lived through it.
My suggestion - do not move away from Florida or any warm place and go north after September. Not just that the temperature will shock you, but lots of other issues. It took me 3 weeks to get propane, the elec co wanted a $600 deposit from new resident ( bypassed that with good standing previous history), Thanksxmass holidays make everything go counter clockwise, and shopping for necessities or Anything in December??? Forget Nov & Dec totally. Forget any winter month because of that white stuff called snow!
The good part and the only reason to leave Paradise is to be in Heaven with g-kids xoxo
I remember when I stayed @ my friend's place in Mirimar down in Broward County and I stayed there because of new construction of a Co Generating Power plant nearby from May until the end of November.
I had to move back to New York because the job slowed down and they laid off a few of us so we wouldn't be eligible for benefits which the company had to pay for. So when I got back, I was shocked also by the change of weather and got really sick shortly after I settled back in the city which had changed for the worse also.
I ended up moving across the river in New Jersey and it was so much more peaceful there that I had no problem sleeping at night because of the lack of noise and I was happy with that.
I totally agree with you Trissa with your advice and I only wish I had read it back then instead of now but hey it is what it is and after that - we move on. Them utility companies are such bastards when it comes to getting service activated and i went through the same as you did back then. Now I don't pay for anything!
I haven't seen Neutron in a while, some how I trust he doing just fine.
I once moved from the N. Idaho snow belt to Phoenix, Ariz....I thought they were joking when they told me to never lay my tools down flat on the ground, to always lean them on something or stick them upright in the dirt.
Metal tools absorb too much sunlight to the tune of second degree burns,
Water pipes in attics too hot to touch. No such thing as cold tap water in Phoenix.
I like it!

Hi Levi and Hank!
