hmm I still don't really understand because there are 9 cards in a row, so how can it identify one card out of 9 in only 3 times of identifying it? Wouldn't there still be 6 variables?
The first pick takes it down to 9 cards (the ones in the row you pick.)
Then the 9 are spread evenly into the 3 rows...3 cards in each....you pick one of the rows.....there are other cards in the row, but those cards are already eliminated....they're just there to make it look more conusing and impressive.....you pick one of the rows....and take the choices down to 3 cards....
Those 3 cards are spread into the 3 rows....and you pick which one of them is right...
Row I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
Row II 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18
Row III 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27
(Patti22's card is 22.......so it's row III)
New Row I 19 20 21 (1 2 3 4 5 6)
New Row II 22 23 24 (7 8 9 10 11 12)
New Row III 25 26 27 (13 14 15 16 17 18)
so it's row number II ......making the posible numbers 22 23 or 24 (the rest being already eliminated)
New Row I 22 (1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8)
New Row II 23 (9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16)
New Row III 24 (17 18 19 20 21 25 26 27)
So it's Row I.....making the number 22 (the rest are already elminated)
Try it yourself with 27 cards. Just discard the cards that are eliminated. You'll see that it's rather simplie. What makes it confusing is that they keep track of the eliminated cards in their head (or computer) rather than discaring them.
My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
You guess the first time, then the 9 cards are seperated into the three groups....one of which you will pick
It's now narrowed down to 3 cards which are each put into a separate row....and you pick the row...and they know your card.

Does that explain it?
