Pull up a chair and put your feet up. Lie down if necessary! :)

I HATE my sister-in-law.
I was urged time and time again to move to my new location, near my brother and sister-in-law, mostly urged by my sister-in-law. Daily she would call me and push me to move here. They "wanted me close to them" - "we were going to finally be a family unit' "they loved me so much" - blah blah blah. Well it turns out I am a target for her ugly gossip.
They live in a town that is near stores - I do not. I'm at least 10 miles away from any stores. I asked them if they would pick up a couple of pad locks on their way to my house so I could secure a few doors. WELL!!! You'd have thought I'd asked them to go to the ends of the earth. They showed up miffed - demanding, etc. My sister-in-law stood in my living room, did not sit down, arms folded the entire time we were here and barely said a word. We were going shopping and I wanted the locks in place before we left.
As I have mentioned before, since the estrangement started, I have gained weight - about 35 lbs. I'd say.
I am now told that my sister-in-law has been gossiping about me and laughing at me behind my back about my weight gain and saying that my asking for TWO FRIGGEN pad locks means that I am SO paranoid.
Damn it - leopards do not change their spots and I knew she was not a very nice person - years ago. Why did I let her talk me into thinking she had changed and really gave a rat's ass.
I have been listening to this bitch go on and on and on and on - nonstop about her life - every single aspect of it for years - almost daily. It got to the point that when she'd call, I'd ring my own doorbell and tell her someone was at the door so I had to go. She often was so into what she was saying she would not even hear me and just kept on talking - I'd hang up.
If she is talking, which is ALL of the time, no one else can get a word in edgewise.
I sat in a restaurant with my brother and her - and she talked for 45 minutes straight - no one else got to say a word. When you try to break in - she just talks faster and louder until you just give up. I've never seen anything like it.
Okay - thanks for listening - I just feel like I jumped from the frying pan into the fire. However, I do love my new home and the area - so that's a good thing. I'm just really pissed right now.

Just ignore the girl, at least you don't have to work with her....
I really dont have much to add to all the good advice given already. I would just say that you have so much going for you in your new location than this one relationship. Correct me if I am wrong but you have a pretty busy and full life outside of this relationship. Right? Focus on the positive and try and let the negative go without a second thought.

They don’t like us? That’s a shame. We’ll pencil in some time to cry about it later and carry on and enjoy our lives in the meantime. Life truly is too short for this sort of nonsense and frankly they aren’t worth it. (((Hugs )))
My personal example is my step-monster, she is the most narcissistic person I know, has been since I was 9 years old, and anal to boot.....BUT....those same traits that have caused me so much anger and anguish over the years have proven to be the saving grace for my Dad during his illness. Confused Yet? Me too, had to let it filter for awhile before I realized that the great care she takes with his medical needs is because she is terrified of being alone....its about her, not him! But that's okay because Dad is doing great and I have learned to appreciate and be grateful for the UPSIDE!
I guess what I am saying is try to find something, anything to help you look beyond the downside. There is personal peace is allowing others to be themselves without taking it personally! Her shortcoming make her look petty, not you! Don't let her spoil your new beginning....its about you and your choices...so get busy and find your niche! Go with Gusto Lovely Linda! Hugs D.
Yes you have come a long way, don't let her keep you down she is so not worth it!!!
