Well, I hit the "join" button. :) Not really needing or wanting to do to much talking. But that "put your feet up" well sounded pretty good to me... First off HI, again... lol Don't really know what I am typing or why just wanted to not "run" off daily strength again.... Kinda "done" with the "estrangement" pain.... at least not "in pain" anymore.... If that makes sense.... Just kinda tired of the whole "stuff" stage in the game... lol Soooo, I have been reading this site for some time now.... Gotta tell ya... those changing avatars! When times were bad, and I just didn't want to "think" estrangement. and I still just needed some "connection" to these sites... Well, I would simply come to see the "avator" of the day.. :) You have no idea how much that gave me smiles...
And the story you where going on with the "sprained ankle" (sorry don't know all yours names) That had me laughing and laughing... when I thought I couldn't...
I hope I have not "ruffled" so many feathers on these sites by now that I will cause any of you any uncomfortableness... I really really don't want that... and really don't want to "debate" anything anymore... Just would like to read and put my feet up..
MsB, tiptoeing, for sure tooo tooo long.. I think thats me. :) looking for landmines all the time. :) Or just wanting to look for land mines anymore so badly I just RUN as fast and as HARD as I can right into the ones I suspect to be there! :) Oh boy, I am sooo ready to walk for a while!
KB, Yep! I just have to work on the "it's ok to "live now" part" :) That is the only thing holding me down now I think. :)
Poppa and momma, Thank you again for the welcome. :) Is that MU that football team that the OS people are always fighting with. :) I haven't ever rooted for a team before... but I'll root for MU if you want.. Or I can root for OS if that is more fun. :) hee hee I think I have a couple relatives that coach for OS, never was close to them, but I think that "might" qualify me as a OS people. :)
BarbaraJean, Thank you for the welcome... my husband and I have many times "sited" your avitar, when we have been "mucking" over our "punkfreeness" and we both have kicked out our foot and saying-FLY!!
The fog lifting the waters parting... kinda know the feeling! Never really noticed how many egg shells I was walking on with ED until she left... and AHHHH Now I gotta work on the living! :) So, glad your ankle is in the past! You sure do make lemonade out of lemons! :)
Thank you all again for the warm welcome... and a place to rest! :)
You can root for Michigan, as long as charlottemaria doesn't find out! "She's from New Zealand. "Rooting" for the home team carries a whole new meaning there! :)
Tomorrow is a national holiday where I live, home of the Oregon Ducks. Many places will be closed in honor of the BIG game. I am not a football fan so I am planning on going to Costco for gas and other things. There will be no long lines then. In fact, I may be the only person there..unless they are closed, too.
You are all welcome to root for the Ducks tomorrow.
Makes me want to be careful talking on a "gardening" site or something... or is this the way I can now let someone in a "grocery" line or something "have it" without getting in trouble? Oh "root you"! Maybe my husband can use this on the boss or something?!
I do type slow.. didn't see the posts above mine...
Kb - are you pulling my leg? The Ducks? hee hee Did someone really name a "team" the Ducks!? Oh my gosh I have been drinking toooo much chocolate milk!
I found this online a perfect warning to folk from the USA! - A female visitor from the US has this to say... My first time in NZ I made the unfortunate mistake of listing off my hobbies to a family that had me over for tea.... among my hobbies? "I like to root for the football team!" (one of the boys said, "What, the WHOLE team?
Charlotte, I am laughing my head off. That is soo funny. I absolutely love the English language and cultural differences.
GonnaB--this is absolutely true. Google it. And not just any duck but the fierce and mighty Disney character duck. They fought a long battle with Disney to get that. Won the Rosebowl and are going for the national championships on Monday. We love our Ducks around here. I am not even a sports fan but that Duck fever is really catching. Tomorrow I will be able to drive anywhere in town and most likely not see one car during this game.
Really! That is what I said when I first moved here. What sports team names their mascot after a Disney character?
Charlottemaria, All I can think of when I think New Zealand... Is Australia,,, and then my mind goes.... Dinner plate size spiders..... ahhhh and snakes and earthworms six feet long or something... and after reading one of Zane Grays novels... (can't remember the name of it) but ....crocs! yikes!
I don't think I am tooo up on my geography probably? So, I can't imagine traveling there. hee hee ... our blacksnakes here are tooo much for me... and the "wolf" spiders.... Creepy critters! That is the only thing that is missing in the winter that I can really really feel greatful for...... :)
The world is a funny place to me sometimes... I live near a state park, and live on one of the main routes to it... and the summers are "filled" with people... (from what they tell us) from all over the world.... (??) And I sit on my porch listening to alllllll the traffic thinking ..... (what is the big deal here??) And I suppose the people here are taking off at the same time traveling to where all "those other" people left to come here! :) Tooo funny sometimes... I like to travel PBS style.... No one is ever blocking my views... and I notice the crowds passing by on the screen in front of me never seem to bug me or anything! :)
Kb... I am really not UP on things... I don't even know who the "disney Ducks are"' I can still only see a "duck" and football ..... and it kinda still cracks me up a bit!
Yes, we are a unique culture here in the Pacific North West. I live just a few minutes from the home of the Ducks, University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon. Portland is a very cool city two hours north. You should see the major backup on the freeways on the day of a home game. A site to behold!
Gonna, we are typing at the same time again. you do not know who the Disney duck i becase we are talking about FOOTBALL here. The Disney duck is Donald Duck! I know I can barely even say it: Our U of O mascot is Disney's Donald Duck.
My youngest son worked in NZ for about 6 months. He posted a picture called "View from S.......'s office." It was about 15,000 feet above the earth. Just gorgeous! No crocs or creepy critters up there. He is a tandem skydive instructor and before moving to SW USA, where it is year round summer, he chased summers so he could work year round. I would love to visit NZ some time. Did not visit him then because.......well you know why. Why I am here.
This is all too cute really.... you know my "still here" "sain" still kids.... they took to the encylopedias and started looking up New Zealand. CharlotteMaria, being a teacher right (?) Well isn't that a "cool" thing... I homeschooled them and I love it when they just "learn" because they "want" too! So, you have started a bunch of people to "learning" the geography of New Zealand.. They have been "enlightening" me with pictures and the like... :)
Kb,, Donald.. of couse I know Donald Duck!! Still I must have missed something about "him" or a movie about him made sometime recently of something? I sill crack even more now picturing Donald Duck on a football team. (chuckle) I can just see him throwing one of his "super duper" melt downs in the middle of the game.... ya know the famous "self-destruct" Donald Duck tradmark moves... Hee heee Sometimes I think I am too much like him... (chuckle)

Or maybe I will be safe with Charlottemaria, if I root for the AU Eagles... (if they have a football team!) chuckle
That would make me "being loyal" to the hometown team. :)
