Thinks about how son. Your day at work will end and you can enjoy driving your new car.
You are so special Martini. TGIF, right? Congrats on the new car!
You hit it right on the head Dianna. She said we'll have a meeting when she gets back to talk. She doesnt realize she opned a can of worms about how I stayed late for free this week to help OTHER people. I wanted to swear trust me. But you know it did ruin my day. I got a sweet new car. Now I cant enjoy it casue I don't know if Im going to have a job to make the F888ing car payment!!! You feel me?
Martini
Go into the meeting with your present schedule clearly stated so even your uncaring/unknowing/UppityBitch can understand the job you are doing for HER!
Mention the violation of a safe working environment due to extreme unhealthy temperatures. ( I have had 2 brain injuries so completely understand the temp fiasco ).
She knows you have a brain injury- that would be discrimination if she fired you....she needs to understand.
Hey you special dude to the circle-go forward and conquer!
Joanne............Enjoy the new car!!! Just got one after 8 years as the other behemoth was difficult.
to not being giving you some leeway she knows she's dumped on you on for months now. unacceptable #2
knowing you have suffered a TBI and strokes and not having a discussion on your needs and limitations. #3
on and on. i'm glad you sent the email and have it it writing and i do hope it provokes a good professional conversation about her setting appropriate limits and perhaps going over your job requirements as listed in the company manual or ask for one if it doesn't exist.
enjoy that new car and have a stiff blue cheese dirty martini on me! big hugs!
Enjoy the car and the weekend Martini AND a stiff bleu cheese olive martini. People like you are known as "workhorses". A company doesn't get rid of those. They keep 'em. But you really need to have a sit down with that insensitive boss of yours.
If you want us to go kick her ass after the meeting, don't worry, we got your back!
Man this erks my behind! I was in management and I never would have chewed anyone out and especially in front of anyone. Be sure to include who you called in to.
Excited for you getting your new car.......go enjoy it this weekend and leave work behind!
Glass raised to the Martini
Hi Martini,
First congrats on the new car and a sweet ride at that!!
I was a manager for many years and I also had a few managers like yours. I refused to stoop to their level so instead I would kill them with kindness it worked almost all the time. I'm glad you stuck up for yourself & sent the email. Since you know your going into a meeting with a not level headed person here's what I would do & what I found worked over the years.
I would make a detailed list of everything so that nothing is forgotten, here's a few things I'd put down:
1. I do apologize for being late, however I did call my backup at 8:30 to tell xyz that I was going to be late as I needed to pick up my car so I could get to work. It was supposed to be ready last night but wasn't.
2. I average almost 70 calls per hour almost double of what is the norm.
3. I gladly stayed late on my own time three times over the last two weeks to help out my coworkers. Without teamwork what's the point.
4: As you may or may not know with my brain injury my body does not regulate its self when it comes to heat and cold. When the thermostat was screwed up a few times now and temps reached 80degrees in here I stayed even though I was throwing up in the bathroom due to migraines & bp spiking.
5: Even though the disability act states that I am able to request things like a footstool so my legs can be elevated to ease the pain or an adjusted work schedule or help with my work load. I haven't asked for these things as I didn't want to be treated differently though with how things have gone lately I think we need to revisit some of these things.
6: I've had to strokes while on the job here & because I knew I couldn't miss any time I put my health in jeoprody and finished my shift.
7: With all due respect, I understand you upset with me on fri but I would appreciate it if next time you wouldn't get upset with me in front of everyone especially since you didn't have the whole story.
8: I would email her your list should you decide to make one and say: I know we're meeting first thing Monday here are a few things I'd appreciate if they could be addressed. I just didn't want to forget anything. I would also make a paper copy for youv& her and give it to her when you go into the meeting.
9: last but not least I would bring in your cell or a small tape recorder if you have one and say I hope you don't mind if I record this meeting. Due to my brain injury I want to make sure I don't forget anything you have to say.
IMHO by doing it all like this you have everything laid out. Obviously you'll add your own things but this helps to keep the emotion out of it. If anyone's going to get upset let it be her, all the more reason to record. Normally I'd say record without her knowing but I'm pretty sure it's against the law & inadmissible should you need it.
Hang in there buddy, you have a whole room full of women her that aren't afraid to open up a can of whoop ass on her! LOL!! J/K...,well maybe a little I know it's hard but let it go until Monday and just enjoy your new toy!
Love & Hugs
Lisa

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Martin you don't show them you can do more! sheesh! what a damn ostrich to do with a martini?
First a quote from one of my favorite songs by Creed from the song "What if"
"The more you whore us down, the more we press on"
Ok got it. So Friday boss called and beratedme in front of the floor. Unacceptable. Then she told me I made a "bad decision". As if she was threatening me or my job. For being late to pick up my new car except I had stayed late 3 days that week to cover other peoples work.
So I was sick all weekend worrying about my job. Yesterday they told me I had to train soeonen on how to do the mail in "case I am not at work". Ok mess with my head. My boss is on vaca at Disney World but directing all this vitriol. Against a brain and stroke pateint mind you.
So what did I do? I went to our owner. A very reasonable and smart man who happens to own our million dollar company and has monthly finance meetings with Persident Obama. In other worrds, connected.
So I sopke to him and told him the whole story inclduing how I was late to pick up my new BMW. he says "BMW. Oh my God thats great Martin" what kind did you get? He was so happy for me. He said I have NO WORRIES about my job becasue I do a good job and HE MAKES THOSE DECISIONS. First of all Whew and second of all, shove it up my bosses ass@! She is not going to bully and treat me this way. And a brain patient no less! he suspected she was playing games. What a horrible bitch. He also said she has zero managment skills and they know that. he told me not to worry.
Im sure she'll try to retaliate in some way. Oh well, bring it on bitch!!
Wow. F***in balls of steel I have. Dont f**k with me and guess what. Dont mess with the FC either cuase these ladies will whoop your ass! Any questions?? haha
Martini
i was hoping there was a way to go over her head and she forced you into it...was there any discussion on support by other staff since you have an overflowing plate.
way to go, bro!!
