What a terrible night last night was. I was finally feeling better, no headache and all signs of sickness were gone. I had a good day, got a few things done and was relaxing with bf and a friend of his.
That was when my (pregnant) daughter texted me that she was having pains she was worried about and didn't know what to do. Her friend was on her way so I suggested she call the maternity ward and fill them in. They told her to come right in so her friend took her. Things escalated from there. The baby was fine but they were thinking either gall bladder or appendix. She was given morphine for the pain but she reacted to it with severe chest pain and her other pain got worse. During this time her friend is texting me and the friend's mother (my best friend) called me. We are all trying to keep each other posted on what is going on.
They gave her dilaudid (*sp) and it started helping her pain but her tongue started to swell so they had to give her benadryl as well as gravol because everything was upsetting her stomach. My dilemma during all this is that I am an hour away and I can't drive myself there and bf had already had a few beer so couldn't take me. Our neighbor who I can always count on was gone with his wife and kids for the night. I called my sister but she was stuck home with her little guy and no one home to watch him so she couldn't go in for me (she lives close the the hospital where daughter was).
I tried everything I could think of and there was just no way I could get there. She really wanted me to be there and her friend did too cause she was freaked out by all the pain. She kept calling her mom crying then her mom would end up calling me and we were trying to figure out how we could help. In the end my friend was going to go herself but about that time my daughter decided she was ok without me for the night. Things were quieting down in the ER and she was going to try and get some sleep. Phew... I hardly slept a wink myself but I know she did cause I told her to keep texting me if she was awake. About 1:30 am was her last message..
I went first thing in the morning with my bags packed prepared to stay with her as long as necessary. They said she was fine and discharged her about noon. Her ob/gyn said he figured it was all brought on by stress/anxiety and asked me if she could be depressed - it is quite possible. I am so exhausted now I just want to sleep for a week but I am with her at her apartment now and I'll be staying until she tells me she doesn't need me. I think I'm here for the long haul; at least until I find a place nearby to rent. If I live close enough to be able to get here quickly then I'll feel ok leaving her alone but right now I can't. She doesn't handle pregnancy well and goes through alot of troubles every time. But she needs me so I'll stay, she'll feel more comfortable and hopefully have less problems. We'll just see how this goes, sleeping on her couch. I might have to buy myself a really good air mattress for sleeping on if this carries on.
Sorry this is so long but I just had to get it out there. It was an extremely stressful night for me, feeling so helpless while my baby was laying in the hospital in agony. I hope to never be in that position again. Thank you if you kept on reading to this point. Hugs,

The trainer told me he would awaken him every hour and check him. What's going on with your daughter is much more serious than what I went through. I'm so glad she's ok. I'm worried about where you're going to sleep without waking up like a pretzel? You're a very caring mom. She's lucky to have you. Best wishes, Dianna
