grammagus, I'm glad Ed was able to get a lot of sleep yesterday and is doing well. I'm so happy for you that your fingers not hurting. Now let's cross our toes and hope it continues. Please pace yourself shopping. I also hate grocery shopping. Thankfully my hubby does it & has become the lowest price king lol!
Alright everyone sit down I have some big news!! I'm actually going to do something today YEEHAW !!
I'm going to make my awesome BBQ ribs and then were going to see my dad as a surprise. The Vikings play tonight & he & I always bet on the game. Were big spenders....bets range from 25cents to a &1.00 lol at the end of the season the loser takes the other out to lunch & coughs up the money lost. My ribs take awhile. I taught hubby how to make them I first boil them on medium heat for at least two hrs skimming the fat as it comes to the top in the begging. Then I place in a large casserole dish dump a bottle of BBQ sauce on & bake at 225 for 4-5hrs stir a couple of times they come out sooo tender.
The main reason I want to see my Dad is the town I used to live in & he still does has the best pizza place. They make a thin crust pizza & cut in squares I've been craving it all week. What's incredible about this place is they never open before 4pm they are closed on Mondays & a lg cheese pizza will run you fourteen dollars and some change. They were in business when we moved there in 1976 & their still oped despite having Dominos, Pizza Hut & there's one other one that I can't remember the name of. My tummy won't be so happy with me but that's what tums & Rx tummy meds are for. I slept from 10am to 7:40pm yesterday & only woke twice. I'm headed there pretty quick so I can hopefully sleep until 1 or 2. So that's it folks.
I hope all have a weekend that leaves you happy with much lower pain!
Love, Hugs & God Bless
Lisa
Lisa- Sounds like you are going to have a lot of fun this weekend. Those ribs sound delicious! Kind of makes me want some (Send some my way!!!!) There's a pizza place like you mention in my husband's home town. It's been there forever and makes the absolute best pizza I've ever had. Any time we go to visit his parents we have to go to the pizza place (Called The Mug). I'm glad you got some sleep. Sometimes we all just need it.
Well, I woke up at 3 this morning with a headache and super thirsty. So, I got up, drank two full glasses of water, and crawled back into bed. My wonderful husband let me sleep as long as I could (he even stayed in the bed and played on his iPad because he knows that when he gets up it wakes me up). Of course, sleeping in for me is sleeping until 6. The thirst is gone, but the extreme headache is still there. I wish it was as easy as saying "It's a migraine" or "it's a tension headache", but it isn't. I can tell you exactly where the pain is and it's excruciating. I can take pain meds and it dulls it, but the pain is still there in the background, reminding me that as soon as the meds wear off I'm in for it. The doctor's seem to think it will ease up after surgery (Btw- I'm still waiting to hear from the surgeon. If they don't call by Wednesday, I'm calling them).
Despite the headache, I still have so much to do at the house. Today I have to go to Lowe's. I need some paint and some cabinet hardware. I've been planning on repainting the buffet table in the living room. It's currently hunter green (the color it was when I was given it - and whoever painted it that color painted over the handles - ice!) So, it's new color is going to be navy with brushed nickel hardware.
I know I should take it easy, but if I take it easy every day that I'm hurting, I'd never accomplish anything and I'm tired of that. I'm tired of feeling useless. So, today I'm going to accomplish something!
I hope everyone has a pain-free day and weekend!
- Iggy
Grammagus fantastic news on your finger! I hope the shot works for a long time. Glad Ed is all rested up after all that busy running around. You rest up after you get that shopping done, not my favorite thing to do either.
Possum it's about time you did something! woo hoo and a tee hee to ya! Mm I love ribs all bbq'd! I slow cook mine too, but sure don't bake the suckers that long. Sometimes i'll slap em on the grill for a few minutes mm. Now you have THAT in my head! Then you go and talk about pizza......naughty girl! Hope you win, seems the Vikings are huge in this room!
Iggy darn it I wish I could wish those brain aches away from you. That would have to be scary too and I hope the docs office calls soon to take all of this away from you. I think it's great you're going to be working on your table, distraction is a powerful weapon against pain and worry. It's nice to see the product of our efforts too :) It's ridiculous that a shelter would only want brand new blankets! Make yourself one!
We're having just enough rain here to say it's raining. Really need it.....give my tomatoes a good healthy sprinkling. Think i'll dust at least one room today and sweep the house. Hold me back from all of the excitement! Hmm I have a zucchini in there if I get motivated I might make zucchini bread. When I'm done with it it tastes like nut bread yummy. We'll see the hands and arms still are flaired up, though not as bad as they were.
A lovely day to all,
Toni
man o man yesterday was crazy!!! hubby had two repair calls while i was with mom and aunt. went to eat mongolian bbq. stopped at wig shop i tried on wigs made them all laugh so hard they were tinkling! bed bath n beyond for body pillow cover then went back across town to go to my grocery store. aunt got sick from both ends had to take her home. mom took me home then hubby n i went to pick up my friend to stay the weekend.
today my friend and i are going to enjoy each others company while hubby goes to pick up some chocolate frosting so i can bake a double layer chocolate cake. we are going to grill burgers and hebrew national 1/4 lb'ers later. im beat up from yesterdays adventures. used the store motorized cart instead of ms piggy...still hurting bad but im grininng it and baring it.
i hope you all have a wonderful day.
lisa, hope you're getting some good sleep before your big day. your ribs sound great. hope you have fun at your dad's.
iggy, would you consider selling yours on etsy or craigslist? that's pretty crazy that no one will accept them. i wish you could get some relief. headaches of any kind are terrible. how nice of hubby to let you sleep in. take care and feel better.
toni, i know you need a break, too. i hope you can make the zucchini bread. please share your recipe. i have some to use, too.
e, what a busy day you had. sorry about your aunt. those carts are lifesavers on days like that. hope you and your friend have a great time. mmmm, chocolate cake!
woke too early with a sore throat and moved downstairs to get away from the AC, but rested enough. mother's taking a nap and i'm dragging myself. heavens to betsy. we've sorted and packed a lot and still have a long way to go. dad was with her when she got me and we both had a fit at the nursing home b/c they moved his room. no notice so he could pack, no reason given, lost his tv remote, etc. i've already written a letter to the head of the dang place and i'll type it later. we were like two wet hens! and we're calling the state monday. mother has biofreeze that's helping and i brought my heating pad, so i'm headed that way.
peaceful wishes to all!
Lisa, I'm so glad you're going to see your dad. The ribs sound great! I'll have to make them soon. Hope you enjoy your time with him and the game. It sounds likea fun day.
Serenity, wow , it doesn't sound like a good start to your day wit mom and dad. Hoping he gets settled and you and mom get done what you need to. Enjoy your time with them honey.
Toni, too much rain you're having. I know that makes your body hurt. Hipe it's not too bad for you today. Enjoy your Zucchini bread! The dusting can wait!
Minnie, it's always nice to see you.
It was a little cool here today, but still went for coffee. Tomorrow I'm goingvto miriam's for the afternoon. Looking forward to seeing her and Michael. I went to a wake last night and had to wait almost 2 hours to get in. By the time I got to the door my back was broken and I was frozen. I wasn't very prepared , but I don't go to a lot of them because of the lines. I had to go to this one though.
Praying for those missing today. Hope pain is at a low for all.
Love and hugs,
Xoxoxo

Serenity I bet you are exhausted and sleep real good tonight. That's BS moving your dad like that errrrr! I'm pissed off right along with you. Maybe you can find him a better place? they sure have goofed many times, but alas this seems to be the way with these places. Rest up and buckets of ointment to you!
Mary Ellen you have to be worn down from yesterday and all the hurting going on. 2 hours is too much I don't see how you did, what a trooper you are. Kick back with Miriam and Michael and just enjoy every moment of it.
I ended up not making my bread! After dusting and making tuna salad I was done in. Stuff like this makes me worry about what's going to happen to me in 5-10 years, ugh. Energy apply here! hey another t-shirt! I need to go into business.......oh yeah I need the energy......
An awesome evening to you FC,
Toni
Love ya!
