Cooler today. In Noto, Sicily it was 46.5C which is115.7F. We have family living there and it was miserable. The reason for the temps was by North African anticyclones. My cousin is a climate change specialist. The spent the day in pool and the ocean with long sleeve tee shirts and sun screen, hats and sun glasses. All of Italy and Sicily close down, everything, for three weeks every August. I can't imagine in the USA which is obsessesd with work doing that. My Dad worked for a company for 40 years that had a mandatory two week vacation every August.
Sandra, is your watering restriction still on? When our land houses have water restrictions they do odd even house numbers. Even numbers can water on Monday/Wednesday/Friday. Odd number Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday. No Sunday. We also used rain barrels.
Carly, how do you handle water restrictions or does your area in Texas have them? How did Mike do on his own at the ranch?

Today a friend is coming to go through my fabric stash. She is also an artist and I've given her a lot of my art supplies.

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Today I think it was 75 this afternoon.
Yes our hosepipe ban is still in place and will be for a while now. I miss watering the garden with the hose, I find it relaxing lol.
People are annoyed and are filming burst water mains in roads and pavements that Thames water company are not rushing to fix.
I've been pottering in the garden today.
The foxes have bitten through my outlet pipe from the washing machine so I've ordered a new one from Amazon and getting that tomorrow. Our washing machine is in the kitchen so the pipe goes through the wall behind the machine and then drains into the drain outside, but it got me thinking about American washing machines.. where does your water drain out to when I've seen them in cupboards in American homes? I'm guessing basement ones drain out through a drain in the floor?
Carly, nice to get some you time with Mike at the ranch but I bet you worried about him. I hope Mike is taking care of himself and not overdoing it. Finally the water is back on. I've changed the settings on my weather app for a while for it to be in Fahrenheit because I couldn't be bothered to keep looking it up lol.

Where did your dad work that had a mandatory 2 week off in August? I have never heard of that. What a great company.
It has been a while since we have had water restrictions but it is of course all about the watering. They have not given us off or on day's.
Sandra, I have to say that I have never given a thought as to where the water goes from the washing machine. I guess it is just down a water drain. I have given more thought about where the lent from the dryer goes. I empty the one on the machine but it does goes outside to another filter. I am always afraid that it will catch fire if it builds up.
Joanne, it must be so complicated with water and appliances on the moorage.
I can see the balancing act.
