My off balance problem has a name ! !

It is not my imagination. I really have something that makes me tipsy. It is called microvascular ischemic disease. It is small blood vessels in the brain that get clogged. It is a common thing, especially for those who are diabetics, have high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels. I have all of these so I guess I am a prime candidate. There are medications for this so that is good. However, I feel like I have become a drug store. I have enough medications already.
My. Dr. has been out of town, but should be back next week. Maybe I will get more answers when I go for my regular 6 month check up in April.
I will be at the birthday party because I need some fun. I love birthdays and especially at the beach. OH, and I will have some of those pina coladas. I will see you all there.

well, grammagus, at least this explains a lot. are there any other treatments? just be careful and hopefully your primary will advise you best. sure hope so!

Yay you've been validated! Boo on being clogged up, but now you can do something about it :).

Go with your dr's instructions we don't want you having a stroke! kind of like having you around here ;)

Wow, glad to hear you know what's going on now, so maybe they can treat it! I actually had episodes, like you described, which landed me in the hospital years ago, and they thought I was having a stroke. But after alot of testing, it was found that my high blood pressure was the culprit and when those small blood vessels in my brain were getting squeezed even smaller, from the high blood pressure, it would cause me to have stroke-like symptoms and severe dizziness. Once I got on the right blood pressure med, I haven't had that problem anymore.

Grammagus, I know what you mean about all the meds. Sheesh... Hope they do find the right one for you and you start feeling better soon!

I'm glad they found out why you're having that problem and that they have medicine that works well for it. Did they start you on the medicine or are you waiting to go to your 6 month appt. with your primary care dr.

I know how you feel about feeling like a pharmacy. My linen closet looks just like that with all the bandages I have, but I need them for all these damn cancers they cut from me.

My Dr. will be back from her out of town family emergency on Monday and I am sure she will contact me sometime next week. If I need this medicine immediately she will have the pharmacy send it to me in the mail. I am sure she will be calling me sometime next week. I follow my pc's directions as much as I can, but there has been a time or two where I was right and she was wrong, but we talk about it and come to a solution that satisfies us both. Have a good evening.
