Don't read if you're not up to incredibly sad.

My younger cousins five year old son called him yesterday and asked him " Can you pick me up, Daddy.. Mom had a car wreck, and I think she died"
( paraphrased.
My cousin had to tell him how to hang up and call 911 and wait for them to find him.

.. someone had called his Mom after the wreck.. so he found the phone and called his Dad.

It turned out that the boys mother and her daughter had died at the scene.

..sad, of course, for the loss of his ex wife and stepdaughter..
Grateful his son was spared..
And, of course, also just heartbroken for the little guy having to go through that.

So.. you can see why I didn't want to just spring that o oeole.

Truly sad indeed, and heartbreaking. Glad the boy is alive, but so sorry he had to go through that. Smart 5 yrs old to find the phone and call his dad. Prayers going out of all involved.

Gosh JC, such a devastating accident and understand your heartbreak. Keeping you all close in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine a 5 year old, or anyone for that matter, being in that situation.

Oh JC, I am so very sorry. I'm just seeing this now. That poor little guy to have gone through that and all he will go through. How smart of him to call his daddy. I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you as I was at the drs but am so thankful you were able to get ahold of Toni. I am extremely grateful you reached out. oh JC my heart hurts for you and your family. such a tragedy. how precious the little guy is and oh so smart! brave brave brave soul. may his mom and his sister rest in peace. i can see how hard it was for you to share this with us. please know that we are here for you, through pain, both physical and emotional. much love.

On my friend, such tragedies need extra support. I am glad that you are able to share with us. Very smart young man to realize his mother had past and was able to make a phone call. Just amazing.

This is a terrible tragedy on top of all you have going. Bless your heart, enough is enough. I am sending prayers and lots of positive energy to all affected by this. Know you are in my thoughts and prayers always.

JC, so sorry to hear such tragic news. What a brave boy, so young to have witnessed this horrible accident. I hope your cousin is close enough to be with his son at this time. My heart goes out to all friends and family.
