Grammagus, bless your heart for all that you do. The baby yarn is so soft and cuddly. I have no doubt that your blankets are beautiful. I'm sure the recipient of such a beautiful gift have to be so happy. I hope the shot works on your finger and the pain will be a thing of the past. Try not to over use it until it has a chance to work. I hope your day is a happy one and pain and stress are low.
It's the same old same old for me. I'll be heading to bed here shortly. I really appreciate all the concern over my rib. I promise you the only big movement I make during the day would be in the bathroom lol sorry I couldn't resist. Seriously I really am in bed all day long day in and day out. It's too painful to sit. The only time I'm not in bed is when I come out to my smoking corner in the garage (save it I know I need to quit) I have my moms wing back chair out here. For the most part it's almost as comfortable as the drivers seat in my rendezvous. However it's really been taking a toll on my low back so it's going to be back to the car for me.
I promised my hubby at the beginning of the year that I wouldn't sit out in the car in case something happened again. It could just as easily happen out here. I gave it my best shot. I love sitting outside in my car it is so peaceful. When the wind blows just right and the creek at the bottom of our woods is running it sounds like the ocean. There are no lights, except for the flood light on the garage and the only noise is the crickets chirping & they seem to go to bed around 11pm. I know it sounds strange but after 16hrs of tv & dogs barking I just want peace & quiet so I can come on here & live vicariously through your lives. Ok sorry I babbled way to long :(
I hope all that follow have a fantabulous day filled with warm fuzzy moments.
Love, Hugs & God Bless
Lisa
grammagus, i hope the injection will do the trick for you. did he tell you how long before the novacaine would wear off? i hope you'll be able to crochet easily soon. your blankets have touched so many lives and will continue to do. how special! wishing you lots of relief. hope ed is doing better, too.
lisa, sitting in your car sounds like the break and communing with nature you need after having to be in bed to get that rib healed. you're not babbling. i like the description.
mother will be picking me up at 3:30 and i'll spend a night or two at her place tripping down memory lane and boxing it up. that works so much better for me than a morning pick up. i might wake early, but that doesn't mean i'm functional. i have my little necessity kit, my electronics kit, heating pad....no more days of grabbing a few things and heading out. unfortunately no laptop to go, but i'll check in on hers if i can.
i don't like to leave penny this long, but i put out multiple food and water dishes and two litter boxes and leave the tv on. i'm going to take a good sampling of fruit and snacks since i doubt we'll cook.
so today i'll just be sure everything is together. if i have time i'm really in need of that special attitude adjustment of bright auburn.
i hope we can get a lot done and have some interesting chats.
wishing all the best day possible!
Lisa- Sitting out in the car sounds relaxing. Though, I don't know that I'd get any relaxation doing that in my neighborhood. I swear we're going to have to design a chair for you that feels like the seat in your car. That way you could be comfortable wherever you wanted it. (Perhaps on the porch instead of the car.... :) )
Serenity- It sounds like you have a full weekend of memories to relive. Try not to work too hard while you are there. We will miss you if you can't check in, but don't worry, we will be glad to see you when you get back! I'm sure that Penny will be ok. Cats tend to be independent like that.
I have errands to run today. And I'm meeting my husband for lunch - so I'm going to try to get out of the house for a bit. Maybe do some grocery shopping if I feel up to it. (My fridge is basically empty).
My Selina kitty has been acting rather strange lately. I'm not sure if she's picking up on the fact that I feel particularly out of sorts this week or if there's something going on with her. She tends to be super independent and only wants cuddles occasionally, but this week she has followed me from room to room around the house. She usually doesn't sit in laps, she'll lay beside you, but not in your lap. She's been obsessed with sitting in my lap and cuddling with me. It's nice. I've enjoyed it, but it's just out of character for her.
Well, better run. Have a great, pain free day everyone!
- Iggy
Morning Lisa, can you buy a similar drivers seat from the wreckers and get it mounted to a frame and use indoors?? My mate does that and has very comfortable and awesome chairs, at a great price. Enjoy the time out listening to nature n hope you rest.. x
Morning Serenity,.. Fab, your spending the nights with Mum, hopes the pair of you enjoy the memory lane tripping, whilst getting the packing done,.. Your a treasure.... Miss Penny will be fine,.. He He,... probably already has a catnip party organized for while your away 8-) x
Great big Good Morning (((Hugs))))) Everybody still to follow and to anyone I may have missed....
Awww,.... I think I will sleep tonight, we have that beautiful sound of rain happening, n I Like Rain...
Sigh..... Lost so many post attempts today, my server keeps crashing, grrr,.... my apologies for not replying to some important threads and not seeming to care, I have worn my flippers out struggling on the typing front.. 8-(... Silly Frog keeps forgetting to copy the message before I hit send...
Love and Cherish you Friends of the Circle and sending wishes for a Fabulous Friday... xoxoxoxox
Grammagus, I'd wait to see how the thumb out before starting to crochet on the off chance the injection doesn't take. Otherwise, keep doing what you're doing! There's a place in heaven for people like you. Hope Ed's doing ok today.
Lisa, good to know you're being more careful with the ribs! Cool retreat in the car! Hugs, Dianna
Iggy, we had a cat named Mo who was feral when we took him in. He would come in to eat but was also not a cuddler. He began sitting in my lap (which he never did). We took him to the vet and found out he had dental disease which caused him pain. I don't know how old Selina is but it might be a good idea to run her past your vet. Good luck running errands today and enjoy lunch with hubby!
Hi Seek! I know how thoughtful and supportive you are. I'm having glitches too with my computer. I wonder if it will get better or worse with time? I love falling asleep to the sound of rain. I hope your flippers feel better soon!
I woke up feeling wrecked this morning. The same whenever I grocery shop the day before. UGH. I'll be staying in today and taking it easy. That's ;the best I'll be able to do.
I hope all here and those who follow a peaceful, manageable pain, day.
Hugs,
Dianna
Grammagus great to have news of your doc visit and yay on it going well! You're a sweetie on your blankies, but keep it slow for the shot to work its magic long term like Lisa said.
Lisa I wish I could fix you up your own paradise in your garage! I'd add an alert button while I'm it that hopefully you never need to use! Hey keep on healing :)
Serenity I'm glad you and mom are spending some time together, but darn it I know you will over do. Hmm pick break times and several of them, maybe that will help. Get that attitude adjustment going GF ;)
Iggy enjoy lunch with hubby, but no overdoing for you either! Make sure to pick you up a special little treat for shopping in the first place :) Our pets alert us to themselves and to us. She sounds very contented or knows you need it. You need a pet psychic! ha
Seek hope you're slumbering by now to that rain. You can always try hitting the rewind when your threads go poof sometimes it works and sometimes is better than none. It wears me out too and some days......... Nighty Night sleepy one.....
Not sure what's up today, I was up all night. I was so restless and forgot to take my meds until 2am. My nervous system was playing haywire around 7 that might have something to do with it all. The rains are headed this way, but I can't get a good look on the maps. Might have 5 days of the stuff. Use to be I could feel it coming up to 3 days ahead of time, now my body's too stubborn to tell. Just know when it comes sometimes I can feel some easing.
Hope everyone slows down those bodies and gives them the rest they need. We all have a pattern of being worn out by the weekend, so rest up and maybe we'll have a little something left.
Hugs and Smooches!

I have a dinner to attend tonight and am really looking forward to it. My boss is taking me and my team (and our spouses) out to a very expensive and very delicious steakhouse as a thank you for all of hard work. It's so nice to be appreciated. I really like my staff and my boss so it should be a good time. I think I've gained 5 lbs just thinking about it.
Speaking of weight gain... I'm struggling with what to do. I started gabapentin about 5 weeks ago now. It is working great, I feel better than I have in years but I'm gaining weight for no reason. I'm following my Weight Watchers plan and have gained 7 lbs in the past month. The doc reduced the dosage and now its not working well enough. Sigh...
I haven't had much time to check in lately but do stop by most days to check up and offer support where I can. You are all in my thoughts daily.
Grammagus, I think its wonderful what you do with the blankets and critters you make. You must bring a bunch of smiles to peoples faces. I hope the finger continues to feel better and that Ed is doing ok.
Lisa, Your dog stores always make me smile and they are so cute. Are they shih tzu's? We a shih tzu growing up and I adored her. She was "dumb as a rock" but was so sweet. She would get so embarrassed when my Mom had her shaved that she wouldn't go outside. It would take a few days before she would finally adjust. I get my persian cat shaved because he hates to be groomed, He loves being hairless and struts around with his lion cut. Hope you find your comfy spot today.
Serenity, enjoy your time with Mom this weekend. I hope its filled with good memories. I'm sure Penny will be fine, as Seek said, she probably already has the catnip party planned. Rest up until your Mom comes to get you.
Iggy, check with your local homeless shelters, salvation army, etc. I'm sure they have a need for blankets and would love if you provided some. The company I work for is involved with "Warm Up America" and donates yarn and recruits volunteers to crochet the afghans. http://www.warmupamerica.org
Enjoy lunch with hubby!
Dang it Seek, those poor flippers of yours need to stop misbehaving! I hope you are enjoying a good nights sleep. Sending you a big hug my friend.
Dianna, It's an order! You do nothing but rest today! Tell Hal that a foot rub is in order... and he might as well feed you chocolates too. Feel better!
Aww Toni, I wish you could get a good nights sleep. I swear, it has done nothing but rain this summer. My body doesn't like it either. When do we leave for Hawaii?
And lastly, a little shout out to our night owl Hippy. She always comes in at the tail end and I never get to say "hi". So Hippy, if you're reading today, I'm sending you a big hug.
Love and hugs to all,
Vicky
On way to fair, baked 2 dozen cupcakes from old family recipe and then up to Vancouver for son #1 b-day ( he and #1 daughter both born on Friday the 13th-different years).
Really want to enjoy today so breathing deeply and redirecting pain.
Love,hugs,low pain to all,
Joanne
Too many to individually say hello to each of you untill I get my computer fixed. Have to go to a wake this afternoon. A friend's mother passed which is always sad to hear.
I pray everyone is having a low pain day. I'll try to come back later.
Love and hugs,
Xoxoxoxo

toni, i've packed my first aid kit including heating pad! my breaks are built in to my bad habit, but i go a long time in between. attitude adjustment in process.
vicky, when i was gaba, i could look at food and gain weight. so frustrating. another cure is as bad as the problem. hope you have a nice, relaxing weekend.
minnie, hope you're good today.
moonie, how sweet. enjoy vancouver - such a beautiful area. hoping that pain will be re-directed. happy thoughts for you.
ME, i'm sorry for your friend, but i know you're a great friend to be there with her with all you're going through. i hope pain gives you a break today.

Vicky enjoy that dinner you have earned every little morsel of it! I'm so glad you feel better, but yeah gaba is a huge weight increaser not sure there is an answer to that one.
Hey moonie have fun at the fair and save me a cupcake! I haven't been to the fair around here in a long time, always a good time. I want an update on your happenings. Happy b-day to all :)
ME hurry up and get that darn computer fixed I'm missing you! Sorry about your friends mom, you're right it's always sad. Blessings to them all and you too Sweetie.
I felt like I've slept the day away and I guess that's alright when the only rules I have are my own ;)
Friday Night sure isn't what it use to be my friends.........does this mean I'm old? The only thing I miss about going out is playing some pool. Should have bought me a table when I moved and had the money darn it.
Well a great night/day to you all and a behave yourselves a little bit ;)
Smooches........

Tonight is Extreme Sleepover at my house. That is what Madison and Keira call it when they spend the night.
They were in PJs by 7PM. We looked at each of their Instagram accounts and I got to see pictures of my older granddaughter Kylie at DisneyWorld. Guess I need an Instagram account to keep up with her.
They have since had a tea party with my china. Lemonade in the teapot and little squares of grilled cheese and tiny crystal dishes of M&Ms. Then moved on to their favorite School. Keira was teacher and had to have a pretend cup of coffee (water). We are well stocked with supplies for pretend school since all four grandchildren love to play this game. Whiteboard, blackboard, word strips, ect.ect. They even use my husbands office as principals office and our phones as PA system when there are four of them. If one of them doesn't grow up to be a teacher I will be surprised.
Toni tonight I forget my 7PM meds due to all of the shenanigans. Just took them and one will keep me up. At least I remembered before 2AM. I am sure glad you slept today. Maybe your body doesn't tell you about the weather because you are in extra pain lately anyway. No rain here. We are just saying goodbye to 80's and hello to 90's.
GrammAG I hope that injection does it's magic on your finger. I thought about you and your husband yesterday as you had the treat of a car. Actually, think of you often as my sister lives in your area and I know with the monsoons and the heat it must be difficult for you to use public transportation. Anyway I hope the shot works and you can get back to doing what you enjoy with less pain.
Lisa I am thinking of you as I sit in my relax-aback chair on the deck. My citronella candle is burning and the night sounds are lovely. No flood light or moonlight. Love it. I am hearing some coyotes but know I am safe.
Vicky lucky you on steak dinner. I am thinking Ruth Chris but could be a real special stand alone. You sure earned it girl! Forget the calories on this one. From what I hear with GABA you do gain just looking at food. I also hear it really works for some people. I have a friend with severe DDD and she is one it works for post several surgeries. Still has the nerve pain and the GABA works.
Serenity much wisdom to go to mom's afternoon instead of AM. Pace thyself and be kind to you.
Mary Ellen big hugs to you.
Iggy sounds like you had a full day planned. Hope you made it through and had a good time at it.
Seek sweet seek enjoy your rain.
Joanne I hope you have enjoyed the fair and birthday celebrations and pushed that pain a different direction.
