its important to me to talk about my opposing viewpoints
but then i dont like my viewpoint
i'm a cynic
thats no fun
but i just cant do ignorance either, even though i believe its blissful

i'm hoping those with differing viewpoints might somehow infect me with more optimism or faith

so far, the lack of respect is doing the opposite
and i get upset the few times i feel disrespectful in return

Reality TV is a vast wasteland! Mind you I just don't watch it, but it irks me how they run totally non-sequiter reality TV shows on HIST channel and sometimes even SCI channel! What's up with that? Invading two of my favorite channels with 'Pawn Stars', 'Oddities', etc... My XGF liked 'Hoarding: Buried Alive' and she's a Neat Freak! Hahah! She'd sit there astonished and horrified, but she would watch several episodes in a row!

did she ever wonder why there would be a half dozen writers in the credits?

i havent watched tv in a few years now although i'm still paying for basic cable

but i used to like watching the addiction show, the one with the alcohol and drug interventions

i'd always end up crying at the end when they gave the updates

i'm a suck that way

i think most of it for me is still learning best how to deal with conflicts...conflicting needs, conflicting world views, conflicting styles of communication, conflicting values.

i spend a lot of time thinking i'm good, because i'm much better at it than i was 20 years ago...but i humble myself every once in awhile, by not meeting mt own expectations

and taking things personally

when its probably not personal at all

when probably we're all just trying to do the best we can

How come some people on WT complain that WT isn't discussed, but then they allow and in fact encourage other's to discuss stuff like menstruation and an individuals life story and music vids? I'm for all of it, but why the "schizophrenic" rules?

I knid of see the Name of a "group" as a General enterance ...... once you get in there, the sky's the limit. Kind of like every day being the same day. Like Neil says "it's all the same song" ... It's all DS .......

That's a good point. I saw W&T and thought...Ok, this is a group that want to discuss W&T...in that war is bad and terrorism is bad...my pov. But what I witnessed, was selective outrage. On the one hand, people were saying "this is a W&T support group" so only talk about war and terrorism, on the other hand, the same people who insisted on that strict rule, encouraged those who didn't discuss W&T and in fact encouraged non W&T topics...it's weird. I wonder who chooses as far as what's appropriate and what's not, in that twisted unclear scenario?

I did see where Joyride in particular was called out and bullied by many participants.....I don't know if she was "fired" or simply just gave up for self preservation purposes...I mean, I've seen them be brutal towards her..."tolerance" wasn't exactly in the vo cab....

Well, at the end of the day, it's the "Rules of the Road".

I keep seeing that being repeated and the reason why people are banned or warned, so it must be true.

The "Rules of the Road" are important.

The ROR are steadfast, fair and equally attributed, across the board. It doesn't matter who you are or what your personal position is as it relates to any subject.

The "Rule of the Road" are static, constant and does not take into consideration anything except...."The Rules of the Road".

The "Rules of the Road" never take personal ideology into consideration...so that's good. It never plays "favorites'...that is freaking awesome. The "Rules of the Road" are "just"....and non partisan...the "Rules of the Road" are designed by DS, so the "Rules" are a constant and never are influenced by a CL.

That makes me feel.....kinda....."free to be me"..."peace, love, hugs and I love you".... but......

It's a darn good thing that some purged W&T of all it's W&T themes. It's so important to keep sites true to it's initial ideology. Now, it's a plethora of all things "war" and all things "terrorism".
