day light saving has started in NSW i hate it i have 4 kids and it is so hard getting them to go to bed when the sun is still shining does anyone else feel the same
I thought the reason we started 3 weeks early was to bring the whole of Australia into line (except for the usual non players)? Am I wrong in thinking that? And no I don't have any trouble getting my kids to bed and I absolutely love daylight savings however having said that by March I have more than had enough.
I love daylight savings, especially in the hotter months - means I can get outside and potter around and its not to hot. My kids go to bed at 8.30pm so it is dark by then. People either love it or hate it, but I am a big fan of it.
I don,t like it at first..especially for my hubby who has to start work at 6-30am and has to travel 40 mins to work.
BUT I get used to it and then I do like it, especially being able to do things outside when its cooler..so i agree with rryin
I lurrrrrrrvvvvvvvvv daylight savings - it is so nice to come home from work and still have some daylight to do something in.
Sorry mums and dads - I don't remember it being a problem for my kids - but then I was a tyrant mother, lol - bed time was bed time on a school night.
Originally from Victoria with my 2 sons being toddlers had no problems with bedtime at all, we all loved it.
Shifted to Qld 15 years ago and can't believe why so many people don't want it, would only enhance our lifestyle, need to get a Premier with some spunk that will stand up for the majority not Anna Blythe who is protecting the minority.
Campbell Newman sent me a letter in reply to one I sent him on Daylight Saving saying he was all for it, but his hands were tied.
i love daylight saving - here in WA we're only trialing it (again) in our second year now, and it doesnt start here this year til Oct 26th. What i find difficult when there is no dalight saving in WA but there is in the Eastern states is that generally if we need to contact someone at work in the east, there is generally a 1 or 2 hour window to contact them, working around lunch hours, so when there is only the two hour difference it makes it so much easier.
I can understand the parents issues with trying to get kids to bed, but i would have to say thats the only legitiate objection i have heard from anyone so far, dont go for all the "curtains fading" rubish ou hear. Hope i dont offend anyone but its just my views, i like it.
Well it's official DLS started here 2am this morning. I grew up with DSL in both NZ and NSW. For where we are and being a farming community it really SUCKS. the kids leave school at thehottest part of the day,yes the buses have air con but they can struggle when it's mid to high 40's. As we know farmers work to the light so dad's aint seeing kids until later in the night often not until they're ready for bed. So in this area it's not the sleeping issues but the HEAT and Family reason why I dont like it. Most locals say NO to DLS. Each to their own.
I love daylight saveing. you can come home at 4 pm and do stuff out side and its great for the bbq season.
i found when my kids were younger it was a pain for a few weeks till they got use to it but 1 trick i use to do was darken there bedrooms with heavy curtains and it didnt take long to get them into the swing of going to bed even though the sun was still up.
south queensland is a pain in the ass without daylight saveing. its daylight at 4-30 am what a waste of the sun and its bloody hard to try and sleep when at 6 am in the morning its already 30+ degrees
apart from getting little kids use to sleeping when the sun is still up i can not see any down side to day light saveing.
