Should we try to spin this into an ongoing game about Scorsese film trivia or just end it here? Seems like a wasted opportunity not to keep going back and forth with some Scorsese trivia...

WHERE DO WE START & HOW?????????????

Well, thanks to IMDB.com we can easily find various tidbits on Scorsese films (at least those of us who aren't already well versed on Scorsese films) so all we have to do is pull a factoid on one of his movies and spin it into a question and then whoever knows the answer can give the answer and can come up with a new Scorsese film-based trivia question to post here.

So... I'll post a question and then whoever gets it right can post another question and thus a game is born (so long as we can continue to keep the chain going anyway...). Since Scorsese has quite a number of credits under his belt and each of those films have a lot of tidbits of info about them that we can use, we shouldn't run out of options for questions for a good long time. We can certainly reuse films as well, so long as we're not recycling questions anyway.

Anywho... let's see if we can make this work -

In 1978, when Martin Scorsese was at an all-time low due to a near overdose resulting from an addiction to cocaine, Robert De Niro visited him at the hospital and told him that he had to clean himself up and make this movie about a boxer. At first, Scorsese refused (he didn't like sports movies anyway), but due to De Niro's persistence, he eventually gave in. I don't want to leave you hanging here for too long Gene... since no one else has answered yet, I looked it up - "Boxcar Bertha"... I've honestly never heard of it before; I guess Scorsese's had so many bigger pictures at this point that it's just one that gets pushed aside when anyone speaks about his filmography.

I THOUGHT 'THE DEPARTED' WAS GREAT. DID YOU PEOPLE TAKE MULTIPLE VIEWINGS TO PROCESS WHO WAS WHO IN THE MOVIE AND WHY? I SURE DID.

I've never seen "The Departed". To be honest, I'm not entirely sure if I've ever seen a Scorsese film at all come to think of it. At least, I've never consciously sat through a film knowing it was one of his or was ever drawn to watch a film because I knew he made it. That even includes my college years as a communications major when studying films and directors was part of the curriculum - Scorsese was never one I studied, which probably seems shocking, but perhaps it just was the timing and who they thought would resonate with the majority of the students at the time...? I mean, put it this way, we spent way too much time studying the Coen Brothers (side note: this is why I hate the Coen Brothers).
