Bill, while I appreciate the updates, can we stick to just talking about pop culture stuff in the group posts please? We can talk about what stuff you're watching on tv, that's all well and good, but maybe some of the other stuff would be better shared in a journal post instead....

Like I'm happy to engage on "Nation's Dumbest" - I thought the show would be, well, dumb but gave it a try because I like Jack Whitehall and it's grown on me. It's not like something I'd watch at other times of the year when there's more to watch, but as a summer show it's enjoyable enough filler and I find myself rooting for the celebs even though most I didn't care much about before the show so in that respect it's doing a good job. Curious to see who they might manage to get to do a second season though... oh, and at this point it looks like Anthony Michael Hall is going to "win" which I find particularly ironic since he got his start playing a lot of nerdy characters. What do you think of the show? That lengthy post and yet you never once gave your take on it!

not wanting to spoil anything is why....I like the show....I had only a familiarity with IceT because I used to watch Law and Order SVU and of course he has had a character there. I did not know most of the others but JoJo Seawa I had heard her name not sure why....do not know most characters....

My rule of thumb here is that if someone's talking about a specific current show then it's reasonable to assume they are going to potentially be discussing events from the most recent episode so if someone isn't caught up yet then they should maybe avoid the post about that show until they're up to date unless they don't care if someone might spoil something. But if you are concerned about someone accidentally stumbling into a post and reading something about an episode they haven't watched yet and you don't want to spoil things for them you can always write "SPOILER" (in all caps just like that so it's noticeable) with a few lines in between stating that and then the actual spoiler just so anyone who is trying to remain spoiler free can skip the spoiler or know to avoid reading the rest of the post.

I'm surprised that of everyone on the cast of "Nation's Dumbest" JoJo Siwa's name stood out to you but otherwise you only know of Ice T... (I would never have expected you to know JoJo Siwa because I don't think you would've ever been in her target audience for literally anything she's ever done). I'm a little surprised you're not familiar with Anthony Michael Hall but he does look different now compared to his hey day in the '80s as a member of the Brat Pack. He was in movies like "The Breakfast Club", "Weird Science", and "Sixteen Candles" but he was a skinny, dorky, blonde kid back then so that might be why he doesn't click with you now... Hilaria Baldwin is married to Alec Baldwin (who will be appearing alongside her in the next episode apparently)... Matt Leinart was a football player so if you follow the NFL at all you may have seen him play at some point in the past... Steve-O was on the show "Jackass" on MTV with Johnny Knoxville (who now hosts "Fear Factor")... Jon Heder was in movies like "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Blades of Glory"... Carmen Electra was on "Baywatch"... Andrew Yang ran for president in 2020,... They had a pretty varied cast actually. The only one I wasn't familiar with coming into the show was Chase because I'm not really up on influencers and social media personalities (I suppose he's there to draw in the younger viewers).

JoJo Siwa is just a name to me. I think it was because some years ago there was some guy who formed a protection network in New York who had the last name Seawah Curtis?Seawah? He tried to bring that organization to St. Louis. I had connected the name JoJo Siwa to him in my mind but I watched this show and knew I only had connected her name which comes up on TMZ and also AccessHollywood sometimes....I do not know anything really about her....

I kind of figured Hiaria Baldwin was one of the brothers wives....I did not know till last weeks look to this new week that it was Alex's wife. I did not know the name of the guys in the breakfast club but I watched that movie I had no idea that anthony michael hall was in that movie. I never saw sixteen candles or wierd science.

Ah... yeah, you're confusing Jojo Siwa with Curtis Sliwa - he was, maybe still is, the head of the Guardian Angels in NYC. Yeah, she was, I think - don't quote me on this - but I think she was originally from the reality series "Dance Moms". I think she had a sort of music career as well, geared toward kids I think, and she's done other reality shows like "Dancing with the Stars" and "Celebrity Big Brother UK".

Hilaria's also done "Dancing with the Stars" and she and Alec had a reality show as well. Anthony Michael Hall was Brian Johnson in "The Breakfast Club", he was the nerdy blonde kid in the group of five. He also played nerds in those other two films. Mind you, he was a teen in all of them, kind of scrawny too so that might be why you didn't realize it was him in "The Breakfast Club" and why if you saw the other two you might not realize it was him either. Jon Heder was never an SNL cast member that I know of. I am pretty sure he's mostly just done movies, the biggest two being "Napoleon Dynamite" and "Blades of Glory".
