I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. Is it wrong that my best memories of him are his many appearances on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien"? Probably just shows my age.
Celebrities sure do seem to be dropping like flies these days... I mean, it's probably no greater a rate than any other year, but it just seems like we've lost a lot of pretty big names in a short period of time. I once noted that in January there is always one shocking celebrity (or in some cases "celebrity") death but this year we've had several. While I wouldn't consider Abe Vigoda's death shocking given his age and well, the fact that he was once the subject of perhaps the first famed celebrity death hoax, but still... January's just been packed with celebrity deaths. And the month isn't even over yet...
