it's to young yes but you have to remember the day and age i'm not saying it's good for her to be doing this but if you look at the things we do infront of young children and what they see on tv and learn from their frineds it makes it sound like a good time besides it also when they seen teenagers just older then them do it it makse them think their all grown up which they most certinley are not at 16 they asked me when i want in to the doctor if i could be pregnant and i said no he told me thats good because we have 2 thirteen year old friends of the clinic who are i think the one thing this younger teens don't think about is the concecences of their actions parents need to sept up and let them know that just because their getting older doesn't mean their all grown up

it's so sad, girls are under so much pressure to be sexy and have sex and look hot and be all grown up at an age when they should be deciding whether or not to give up barbie dolls. it's sick! i mean, there have been cases where 11 or 12 year olds have died in child birth. it's horrible. pre teen girls really need more positive, non-sex related role models.

The thing is her parents aren't irresponsible at all and would be horrified to hear this, but they have 6 kids (3 in college now-trying to pay for it all) and she's the 2nd youngest and one of 2 girls. They've had some hardships with money over the years. But none of the other kids even came close to doing anything like that, I think they are all virgins still and the oldest didn't even as much as drink alcohol til college as did the second oldest, and the 3rd oldest (my friend) didn't until senior year and only a few times and only a tiny bit. the point is they're good kids, really good, my favorite family in the world, but through some loophole this girl was just forgotten about for a while and for whatever reason acted this way. She's not a bad girl though... I don't think. So yes I agree the parents should play an active role in these topics but this might have been just unlucky, a little girl trying to reach out and feel for something she thought was missing from her life. However it was obviously not the right way to do it.

no, no worries i didn't think you were pointing fingers at her parents. and yes i agree what they see on TV and hear/see older kids do can be just a bad influence. But now, she is going to have a horrible name for herself when she starts high school and I can't stop thinking how that kid now thinks he's the man.

Yes it is young but there are cases of toddlers masturbating...and keep in mind, for a girl puberty can start as young as eight years old. The hormones start flying, and shit happens. It is honestly like a 15 year old guy (they develop later remember that) going and doing something like that. We are human. We have sex drives. Nothing is going to stop that...maybe she should be a bit more responsible but if she is just listening to what her body is craving and she doesn't know how to react then she needs the sex talk, end of story. Yes she's young but we have these hormones that buzz around and we'll do whatever to satisfy those needs (to some people it is as necessary as food). Blame hormones in the water making us mature faster.

I know what you mean. If she were 16 I know I'd definitely still be uncomfortable with the idea. If she were 25 it would probably still bug me. So you totally have a point, but still I think this was especially hard for me to hear this early in her life.

No, your not over reacting at all. She is way to young to be doing any of those things. I think you should explain to her how much she's gonnna regret doing those things and explain what her reputations gonna turn into. There's nothing cute or attractive about her doing that.

Her brother and sister already had many long talks with her. I just hope they sunk in. My new concern is how I'm going to act when I see her. Will it be like nothing happened, or will I just feel really mad upon seeing her and unintentionally be very abrasive and cold to her? On the one hand I don't want to seem mad at her for something she did (while drunk btw) that she regrets, on the other hand I don't want it to be like I approve of her and I've just forgotten what she's told me. We haven't spoken since then I just realized, but I probably will be seeing their family over Thanksgiving.

Is she not getting lovingness from her male parent? Sexaulness in teen years is about not having a good relationship with the opposite sex parent.
