I have burning in my neck and at the base of my skull and top of my head. I noticed after having steroid infusions, they took the pain down considerably. It is always there, but muted. I have not noticed anything else that helps. Sorry.

I feel like a complete BAD person for saying this..I have never done a drug in my life. I never smoked pot..until recently. It is the ONLY thing that takes away my burning neck..instantly. I was ALWAYS against it..labeled others..the whole she-bang..I'll not judge again. Works like a miracle for me. Trouble: Makes me want to EAT, have 2 girls to set an example for, it smells, not good for my lungs I'm sure, and I feel guilty for doing/ condoning it =(

Heidi I am going to take your advice on the marajuana, I've only smoked it a few times in my life, but I more aganist being in pain and being uncomfortable than smoking a little bit=) I'm not working right now, so I think I'm going to try a little at bedtime and see if it helps me sleep at all. I'm sorry your going through such a bad flare right now. Hang in there, there HAS to be better days to come!!!

Havent tried the marijuana so I really cant comment. For me zanaflex helps the burning neck and the sleep. And its cheap!!! They have a generic, I take 4mgs at night. It is a muscle relaxer

Can you let me know if smoking pot helps with the pain or the burning? Also beck you mention steroid infusions, does that help with the pain?

I have been using marijuana for stomach problems, anxiety, and nerve issues since Fall of '09 about a year after my leg pain started and a couple months after my stomach problems started. It literally is the only thing I've found to help with SO many of my symptoms. And honestly, it's safer and has less side effects than any pharm you're goning to be prescribed.

As far as your kids and smoke, etc. Get a vaporizor! They're awesome and you don't inhale any smoke that way! I even use an e-cig now to get my nicotine. lol A vaporizor is how to do it safely for everyone involved ;)

Make sure it is a medical strain if you try it. It's only meant for one or two hits. Don't overdo it and smoke an entire joint =\ I still can't believe I'm TELLING someone to do this =\ It's just never been me...but the burning for me stops instantly =]

The burning has now started in my hands and feet. it is almost like a radiating sunburn and it is making me crazy.

I know Elainyanna!! I was the same way!! Would of FLIPPED out if someone brought it to my house =( I was just DESPERATE!!! Went down to our local dispensary, researched the strains available, and started with a hit or two. I don't do it every day as I still feel it's " wrong" in so many ways =\ BUT, when it gets BAD, and I've taken all I can take, I'll smoke it.
