I've discovered these people victimize those who are emotionally low and are experiencing a period of low self esteem. That's what has happened to me. It's horrible to experience; I don't even know how to really get out of my situation. It feels impossible. It's a really weird place to be in, in my circumstances.
Anyway, people like this actually tend to find the more virtuous people in this world to victimize. Hopefully, this experience will teach you that not all that glitters is gold. That is probably what the universe wants to teach you.
One day after a process group Robin put his number in my phone even though we weren’t allowed to exchange numbers. He opened up to me about how he had an eating disorder and that is why he was there. He told me I had one too and I did later develop one. We talked all night until early in the morning. He told me he liked me and told me about a future he imagined with me. I was so happy that someone was finally interested in me. I thought this was going to be my only chance for a guy to like me, so I was desperate for him to like me.
He later asked me to be his girlfriend one day when I was in the hospital. We had only
Known each other for abot a week or two, but he was so enthusiastic and kind. I thought he really liked me.
He would always talk about our future and would send me sweet texts in the middle of night, so I could wake up to them. He pretended to care about me and let me open up about my problems.
He then told me that he a sociopath that was in love with his therapist. He then stopped going to program and I was crushed. I had finally met someone I really liked and he was technically my boyfriend. I still thought I could help him though, so I stayed.
We kept in touch and on days when I was feeling suicidal he was there to tell me why I should stay. He never would find a day for us to meet until about after a month of not seeing him he told me a day and time. I was so excited. I thought this was my chance to get my first kiss and really get to help him and make him happy.
He never showed up that day. I waited for 3 hours. I called and texted, but he never responded. Heartbroken I called a friend to pick me up. Later that night I got a text from a random number telling me that Robin had killed himself and that I was on a list of names of people who should be told. The person asked who I was and I told them that I was his girlfriend. The person told me that he had a girlfriend already, so I was devastated that he was dead and utterly confused.
I had to tell his therapist the next day that he had killed himself and I was a mess. She created a support group for people that knew him, but a few days later he texted me and asked me why I was telling people he was dead. I was in shock. I didn’t know what to do or think.
He was really mad at me and I didn’t understand why. It wasn’t my fault I thought that. Someone claimed to be his best friend and told me he was dead. I have never really completely moved on from that traumatic week.
After that I had to go to a residential program for an eating disorder that had gotten out of control. He was still mad at me and didn’t care I was leaving.
After I came back we talked and we continued to talk for a few weeks.
Eventually we got into a fight and we blocked each other. Then he got a new number to text me. He started pressuring me to send him pictures of my body and would talk about all of these sexual things he was going to do to me. I was really uncomfortable and I didn’t know what to do, so I blocked him.
Once again he got a new number and told me he needed me and missed me. I still believe he had a good heart and that he had just had a hard life. He had told me that his girlfriend had killed himself while he was on the phone with her and he became a drug dealer because his dad got him into it. I just wanted to help him, so I listened.
He told me he loved me and once again talked about the future he saw with me. I believed him because no one had ever told me they loved me before and acted so sincere. Then he went to Spain and had sex with another girl. I blocked him after that felt so betrayed.
He got a new number and a new Snapchat to contact me. He always knew what to say to get me to listen. Every time we talked he would pressure me into sharing my body and he would send pictures of his. I didn’t known how to leave the relationship. Every time I blocked him he cane up with new ways to reach me. I felt trapped and alone. I didn’t know who to talk to about it.
After a couple of months of not talking to him he got a new number AGAIN and told me how he was sick and would be his whole life, but that I was beautiful and he was addicted to me. He told me I was the only thing he could think of when he thought of being happy. Then he told me he wanted to call me and apologize, so I let him.
He told me how he listens to a song called dear John by Taylor Swift that made him feel really guilty for how he had treated me.
He would always put me down and lie to me. The last time I talked to him he told me not to tell people about him and if I did something would have to be done to me. After he threatened me I blocked all of the numbers and snapchats. I haven’t heard from him in three months, but I still feel guilty and terrified that he will come back. I don’t know how to ignore him if he comes back.
I just want him out of my life and to get some closure. Does anyone know how I can do that?
