Tulsa Reserve Deputy's Records Falsified by S

The 73 year old reserve deputy who shot and killed a man when he mistook his taser for a gun should have never been in a sting operation; he was not qualified. Not necessarily because of his age and lack of experience but because he had not taken the proper training even though the sheriff, a couple of days ago, insisted that he had.
The Tulsa sheriff's department falsified and forged some of his training records to give him certifications for training in field training and the use of firearms for which he never received.
In fact, several of his supervisors were relocated when they refused to sign off on the falsification of the records.

The sheriff's department is now conducting an INTERNAL investigation? Internal? What a joke. We all know where that investigation will go.
Many people----enablers, actually----will say that he is just "one of the few" bad apples in a barrel of good cops.
There are so many of these bad apples in law enforcement that it is apparent that the entire orchard is poisoned.
I have never seen a group that can lie and be so slippery than people in law enforcement. If you read transcripts, affidavits, and depositions, you would be amazed at how these guys can lie.
They literally have no shame.
Just amazing. I hope the dead man's family takes Tulsa to the cleaners over this little piece of work.

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

Thank goodness for camera phones
And, the truth told by one person may sound totally different when told by another person, so in law enforcement, the camera phone helps with part of the processing of any event (whether it be an incident or something else).
Sad for everyone because the guy had equipment that requires training and certification and as important, a set of protocols to follow with those before carrying this equipment.
As a person with generalized anxiety disorder with social phobia, I'm wary in places with law enforcement in unusual appearances.
I've seen what happens when a person is in a situation where a split second hesitation can mean the difference between life and death. Choosing life makes for a better communication tool with the person, rather than "controlling" the outcome with guns, tasers, and other lethal forces (such as hand control, night sticks, etc).
A person running away is often seen by LEO as "guilty" when the person may be reacting normally under the sudden surge of "fight or flight" chemical balance that does not happen in normal everyday life for most people. I know my first instinct is to back away from someone being forceful, ..., so I can see this being a problem for both LEO and person of interest.
The world is filled with people who want to kill other... Some try to make it that this or that culture is so much more violent.. I think people are as bad as one another
This reserve deputy is just another George Zimmerman. I know Mr. Zimmerman was protected by the Florida "Stand Your Ground" law and was probably legally innocent, but guys like him who are wanna be cops should never be carrying guns around.
We have far too many George Zimmermans in this country.
One of the major problems in this country is that too many people with deranged personalities are carrying guns around. They don't have the personality where they should ever be allowed to be around a loaded gun. This is one reason we have so many shooting deaths in this country.
It is just part of our gun culture in America.

I think the entitlement to own and carry guns is a really bad thing.. And I say that with respect to my American friend... There's really only one use for guns and if you aren't well trained in very stressful situations it can so often result in tragedies
Hell look at all of the tragedies that happen within law enforcement and these are supposed to be well trained individuals
I think there needs to be alternative means other then deadly force and I believe the means is available
We sure don't seem to value others lives the same as we do our own
I can't help but notice that none of the 'guys' being taken down and killed are pals of Donald Trump
You said, "I watched that trial diligently R and he was innocent according to the law... However I believe he was a guy looking for trouble, action and he got what he was looking for at the expense of a child."
I watched it and you could not be more right. The law protected him, but he was a guy looking to play cop and the consequence was the needless death of a young man with his entire future ahead of him. If it had not been the young African American shot and killed that night, it would have been somebody else in the future.
If Mr. Zimmerman had never had a gun, Trayvon Martin would still be alive today. Of course, Trayvon made a tragic mistake of physically attacking Zimmerman. I think it was a case where two rather foolish people met at the wrong time. But there was no reason for a death.
Jan, you are also right about this idea that everyone has the entitlement of a gun according to the Second Amendment. I am not so sure that everyone in this country should be arming themselves. I think everyone has the right to have a gun in their house for protection, but I am not convinced of any reason in which normal people should be open carrying firearms wherever they go.
The gun problem in America is truly a tragic situation.
