The Jon Benet case has not been solved, and barring a confession, it probably never will.

I follow cases such as this, and this case has me baffled. I have not watched any of the recent TV programs regarding this tragedy, but here are my thoughts.

If I remember correctly, here are some points that are important. I have not revisited the case in years as I have been busy with my support work, but here are some points I do remember.

I believe the ransom note was written by Patsy or by someone who knew a lot about John’s business. The handwriting analysis was inconclusive, but the author of the note mentioned a dollar amount in the ransom note that coincided with a Christmas bonus John had received. I forget the amount, but the amount in the ransom note was the very amount he had received.

That tells me the killer was John, Patsy, Burke, or someone who knew a lot about the Ramsey’s business. A complete stranger would have never known the amount of the Christmas bonus John received.

People who come into houses to kill someone do not sit down and take the time to write a lengthy ransom note, and a stranger would not know about the amount of money which was John’s bonus.

From that information and the fact that Patsy was a little crazy, I felt that the killer was Patsy in the beginning.

Jon Benet was a bed wetter. In the beginning I thought maybe Jon Benet had wet the bed, Patsy was tired and became angry with her, and maybe Patsy pushed Jon Benet or caused some kind of injury that caused her death. Then Patsy had to cover it up, so she wrote the ransom note.

BUT Jon Benet’s skull was fractured and it looked as if someone had really brutally tortured the little girl. If Patsy were the killer, she would have had to inflict even more injuries on Jon Benet to make it look like someone else had perpetrated the murder.

Not even Patsy could do that to her daughter whom she loved so much.

And, the ransom note did not have any of Patsy’s fingerprints on the pad, so that makes one believe that the ransom note may have been staged and written by someone else.

Later John and Patsy were ruled out as suspects by DNA evidence.

I don’t think her brother had the strength to harm Jon Benet the way she was hurt.

And what was the motive for killing Jon Benet?? I cannot remember if she had been sexually assaulted. Maybe someone hated the Ramsey’s and killed Jon Benet to get back at them.

If I remember correctly, the police allowed all sorts of people to mill around the house before they secured the body. This would have destroyed any fingerprints or clues they might have used to solve the crime.

My best guess is that someone close to the Ramsey’s killed Jon Benet. I am fairly sure John or Burke did not kill her, and I don’t think Patsy did either.

There are just too many loose ends for this crime to ever be solved without a confession.

Thanks so much for your thoughts rew.... I don't believe it was any of the family and that's what I was upset about... These new shows have no evidence that the Ramsey's had anything to do with it however are throwing a lot of innuendo out

Yes John received a bonus of 118.000 dollars at Christmas and that was the amount asked for

JonBenet hadn't wetted her bed that night and from what I was told it was infrequent

I don't actually think that Patsy Ramsey had any mental health issues that I know of??... I think that she didn't always 'present' well and the child beauty pageants hurt them a lot

Although it shouldn't have.... They didn't invite pedophiles ... My niece has 2 dance studios and children dress and wear the makeup when performing

The theory that John Ramsey shared on the Dr Phil show was that they believe that the killer was laying in wait in the house.... They'd been out for the evening... So the note could have been written before hand

A child had been attacked close to where they lived shortly before this happened and the child starting to scream and brought the mother running... If this was the killer then he may have come prepared.....I do think he wanted to hurt John Ramsey or the family.... I thought he may not even know him personally but could have been envious of all that he had ... The poor man... He's now lost his wife and 2 daughters

Burke was a child and terrible things are being said about him as well.... This family has suffered so terribly it just turns my stomach.... TY for your thoughts....xo

Re Patsy writing the note apparently writing is determined out of 5 and it was 4.5 that Pasty didn't write it but because she was below 5 it was inferred as well all of the family passed lie detector tests and I know that they aren't admissible.... Burke was never a suspect by the police... That was public innuendo again unfortunately... He was seen as a witness

In the beginning, I thought it was one of the family members, since an outsider coming into the home and murdering a child was very, very rare. Then there was some evidence that Patsy may have written the note since the Christmas bonus was mentioned.

But when I found out how gruesome Jon Benet's head injuries were, I realized that Patsy or anyone else in the family could never bring themselves to inflicting that much damage on Jon Benet to cover it up.

I also believe that a few years ago John and Patsy were excluded as suspects by DNA evidence.

Many people disapproved of the way Patsy entered Jon Benet in all those beauty contests; Patsy was widely criticized for that and many believe that Jon Benet was somehow targeted by some pervert who saw her dancing in one of the beauty pageants.

Since some people were critical and did not like Patsy, they want to believe that a family member perpetrated the murder. As humans, we tend to say bad things about those we dislike anyway.

Many people are mean spirited and don’t mind spreading false and malicious gossip without any proof.

At any rate it was a tragedy. A young lady’s life was cut short and snuffed out before it even started.

I have worked with inmates and offenders for two decades now. I help them and their family as much as I can, but I will never understand why anyone would want to harm a child, particularly when it results in death. I also do not understand why anyone would want to abuse an animal, a woman, or an elderly person. But there are a lot of things in this world I do not understand----and never will.

I never will either Rew....nor will I ever understand how people spread malicious crap just to gossip....

This family is once again under attack and I've thought of sending Burke Ramsey a message to say how sorry I am that they continue to be diminished by people who know nothing really and that I think it's horrible however I don't know if he'd appreciate it or not...
Perhaps they want to just be left alone....

One of the programs that I am so angry about is filled with 'professionals' that are implying the Ramsey's did it.... One of the people that was interviewed was the 911 operator that could 'tell' that Patsy was lying but was never interviewed as a witness...

I heard the tape and she could tell diddly..... Another ? witness was a neighbour who could 'tell' that Patsy was lying and that they did it.... This is what a bunch of ? science come up with and years later they say they've solved it...

It infuriated me and reminded me of the innocence that sit in prison with their lives taken away as well this beautiful child is in a grave

I'm sure that they can't even look at the media ... I saw John Ramsey on Dr Phil and I can see how furious he is although he keeps it in check and I don't blame him one bit

He lost another child at 22 to a car accident the poor man

Re the pageants Patsy Ramsey was a beauty queen... She was Miss ? something... in the US.... This was something fun for them and unfortunately a terrible crime was committed... I agree with you... I think whoever did this probably did see JonBenet in the pageant circle and may have been stalking her

Some people are mean-spirited at times. They get great enjoyment kicking a person when he is already down and having problems. I suppose kicking him or her while he or she is down it makes them feel better and shows them that someone is having a rougher time than they are. Many of these types of people have to be reminded of other people’s shortcomings to compensate for their miserable existence.

Misery loves company, you know. Most of these gossipers are miserable human beings.

People gossip because they know if they give gossip, they will receive gossip. These types of busy bodies are prevalent in our society. It has been said the dogs are man’s best friend because they cannot gossip, and I believe it.

In my case, the rumors about my situation were rampant over the town. I was accused of everything from raping dozens to children to being innocent. Some of the stories that were pure fantasy got back to me and were told and propagated by people I thought were my friends. All that changed, though, when the “victim” wanted to come back to court, tell the truth, and clear my name. Then people who had formerly said terrible things about me wanted to be my friend, but it was too late. I already knew the kind of person they were and wanted nothing to do with them.

Of course, Patsy is gone, but over the years John has had to take the blunt of false accusations. I feel so sorry for that man. Now that John is getting up there in years, they have started on Burke.
