Drugs Used in Lethal Injection No Longer Available
rewdiazepam
Even the drug companies that manufacture some of the drugs used in the lethal injection protocol are seeing that the death penalty is immoral.
Our criminal justice system has too many flaws and too many innocent men are convicted to rely on the death penalty for any form of justice, especially since most states have a LWOP---Life Without the Possibility of Parole---option.
Why risk executing an innocent man when we have LWOP?
I am sure this will not stop the revenge minded death penalty advocates, but it is a start.
There is always the option of a firing squad, the gas chamber, or the electric chair. Electric chair?? Sounds rather barbaric, doesn't it?
I am sure some states will revert to one of these alternative methods for execution.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Kids and I watched the Shawshank Redemption tonight.
I sort of get some of the places with more 'barbaric' practises but not an enlightened first world nation... (I say this with respect to my wonderful US friends)
First, my intention isn't to offend anyone's faith.
I think that it's all tied up in the rock hard belief that you have to believe in a god to be moral. That it's the fear of death and a hell in the afterlife that makes people behave.
I've had person after person after person tell me that I am raising kids to send them to prison because I'm raising atheists. People have had it preached from the pulpits that you've got to have this FEAR or people just will not behave. Morality depends on it.
We'll all suddenly become alcoholic, child beating, child raping (sorry rew), thieving litterers.
The Bible, guns, and prayer are the only things that are holding back evil.
***All of which explains why, this atheist, who hasn't locked her doors in 7 years has never had a break-in...(only the locked bike got stolen)***
You can think I'm exaggerating...but I'm not. People are dead serious about this.
What do I think? I think that it's a combination of many things. And that Brain Injury probably plays a much bigger role than anyone's given it credit. More and more and more, it's coming to light just how pervasive it is. The list of sports players that were fine before they started sports and abusive after... is growing.

However how would any faith though defend the wrongful convictions that may be put to death and once someone has been put to death what's on the death certificate is murder... sigh... I hear you though for sure and I am a person of faith... I need my faith .. I tend to interact with my God my way though... xo
