DNA Frees Man on Death Row in North Carolina

The title of the article speaks for itself, but there is one passage in the article that literally turns my stomach.

The DA that prosecuted the case said this-----
"This a tragic day for justice in Robeson County," said Britt.
When asked whether Britt still believes he got the conviction right, without hesitation, he said, "absolutely."
"These guys got three trials. Thirty-six people reviewed it and thought the confessions were correct," Britt told CNN. "You know how hard it is to get a conviction in a capital case?"
This pathetic and pitiful example of a human being reminds me of why I hate DAs.
Here you have a guy who he put in prison and now is being freed by DNA evidence. If the DNA does not match, it is like God pointing down from above and saying, "He did not do this crime."
But this miserable DA still thinks he got it right. This DA, like most DAs, is pure, unadulterated TRASH.
Sheesh, what in the hell is wrong with people?

Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

I saw a man a few years ago on the Larry King show (I am sorry I can not remember his name and I should) he was on death row and his conviction was overturned... The man was crying while being interviewed as his mom died before he was released and his heart was broken... There were 2 prosecutors on the panel who made several comments about DNA basically not being all that... It sickened me
I think it becomes a game to a lot of lawyers... A sickening game
Here is what I really have a difficult time understanding-----What kind of human being wants another human being incarcerated, not to mention executed, for a crime he did not commit??? Do these DAs not have any humanity?
They know that DNA is the ultimate end-all to a prosecution. The DA knows damn well that the guy is innocent. And then to act like he did in the article just baffles me.
Apparently he would rather allow an innocent man be executed than to admit he was wrong.
I just don't understand the ruthlessness and the complete lack of humanity some DAs show.

I want to give you the ultimate in chutzpah and gall.
Remember I gave you links to two Oklahomans who were exonerated because of DNA evidence----Timothy Durham and Dennis Fritz??
Dennis collaborated with John Grisham, the noted attorney and author, to write a book about his ordeal.
Now remember Dennis was exonerated with DNA evidence.
The DA then filed a civil suit against Dennis for some kind of defamation of character!!!! It was later thrown out, but the audacity amazes me----absolutely amazes me.
Here was a DA who was instrumental in sending two men to prison for the same crime----Ron Williamson was also within four days of being executed for the same crime for which Dennis was convicted-----and he has the gall to sue them for exposing the truth. If I had been the DA I would have apologized or tried to hide under a rock somewhere, but not these subhuman creatures.
Amazing.

Here is what they could do----have an appointment committee that reaches across the entire spectrum. They could have two members from each political party, two members from victim's rights groups, two member from prison reform groups, a couple of members from law enforcement, etc.
Have them all vote in private and require a two-thirds majority. Voting privately would ensure no retaliation by the DA when he gets in office and a two-thirds majority is important for ensuring that the desired man or women gets into office.
My plan could be modified and the things I outlined here is just an idea to start with.
Maybe my plan would work and maybe it wouldn't, but it would be better than what we have.
But alas, my plan would be too easy and common sense. Can't have that in America.

PS With this plan, there would be less reason for every DA to be the "hired gun" and try to convict everyone just to get a notch on his belt. If it was set up correctly, each group would have a voice.
I watch the show The Good Wife now... It gives very good examples of the ruthlessness and yes I agree that, that is exactly what it is.... a game of ruthlessness
When people get together in a gang way of thinking and that is what I believe these offices do... The individual no longer exists and it becomes us against them... It sickens me....No one wants to be responsible ...it isn't a game.....That's why I am so inspired by what you do!!... The world needs more of the rewdiazepam in the world...xo
