This is the very reason the death penalty in American is so wrong and needs to be abolished forever. The chance of executing an innocent man is too great.

Here is a man that, if executed on only the basis of one eye-witness testimony, will leave behind four children and two grandchildren.
It is a well known fact that eye witness testimony is terribly flawed and is the one single error most responsible for a large percentage of false convictions, yet we are planning to execute this man on such evidence.
Is it so important for this state---and nation----to exact the ultimate revenge on a person they think is guilty on only the testimony of one eye witness---without any physical evidence?
Is retribution that important?
Could he not be given life without parole with the possibility that some day he can be exonerated? Is killing people that important to us?
Is this, as a nation, what America has become?
I can just hear the law and order crowd claim that by executing this man there is no chance of him ever killing again, not even someone in prison.
I can hear the right wing, conservative, Christian zealots bellow their tired, worn out, "an eye-for-an-eye" mantra.
This is not about law and order or the Bible; it is about taking a man's life when other forms of punishment are available.
Here is a short synopsis of the case against the condemned man----
"""The most damning and crucial evidence against Richard is the testimony of the killer, Justin Sneed, who claims that Richard offered money to Justin to kill Richard’s boss. Sneed testified in exchange for a plea deal that spared him the death penalty. This move gave Justin, the actual killer, life without parole while Richard is on death row.
So the actual killer avoided death row by implicating Richard.
Some crucial evidence.
In addition to this, the daughter of Justin Sneed submitted a letter to the parole board stating that her father has said for years that Richard was not involved in the murder but is afraid to recant because he might lose his plea deal and end up on death row himself.""""
It is amazing in this country that we can execute a man with such little evidence, but a policeman can use a choke hold and murder a man, captured on tape, and we do nothing.
I am ashamed and embarrassed for those that continue to support the death penalty. To continue to hold onto an outdated, barbaric procedure such as the death penalty is inexcusable for any civilized nation.
God help us all.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

Thank you for sharing, and I agree, God help us all.
