Death Penalty in Delaware Suspended

A Superior Court judge in Delaware has ordered a temporary stay of all executions in the state.

I am very much against the death penalty. From experience, the criminal justice system in America is too flawed and wrought with mistakes to ever sentence anyone to death.

I did not personally know Ron, but I did know his co-defendant. Ron was within five days of being exectued in Oklahoma-----and he was INNOCENT and later exonerated by DNA evidence through Barry Scheck's Innocence Project.

At this point, I'm glad it's suspended. I feel for those innocent who are sitting in this situation.

If people knew how many innocent men were in prison, they would be absolutely shocked. So shocked, that they probably would not believe it.

Of course, false convictions never seem to matter to anyone until it happens to them or one of their loved ones.

I agree completely with you rew.... There should be no death penalty in a first world nation.... We know so much better

The horrible way it is done is just horrific on top of it... They bring the person and all who love them to the point of death over and over again before it's carried out... It's cruel and barbaric.... What is written on the death certificate is murder... How can that be okay with anyone????

Ya know, I think it matters a bit when the same criminal is allowed to go on and on and on, because the police convict the wrong person...just saying. Costs a bit to convict and put the wrong person in prison. And then yeah...the person themselves... It's like...pick your argument based on who you're talking to. Talking to a Republican...talk about the wasted tax dollars. Talking to a crime victim, talk about the true villain going free. Talking to the convict's family...talk about the lost years and destroyed life.

I also think that it's sad that we allow conditions to exist that set up kids to grow up to break the law (in all forms).

    Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
