An Injustice When Justice is Denied
rewdiazepam
Sometimes there are injustices when justice is completely denied.
Such is the case when our government refuses to hold accountable a bunch of rogue, odious cowards representing America who authorized torture within the last decade.

I realize that this is not a political forum----and I won't make it one---- and I am not making any distinction between liberals or conservatives or Democrats and Republicans. But torture has been a human rights issue for years.
Holding someone against their will for decades and not allowing them an attorney nor arresting them is an injustice; to add torture to the mix is a travesty of gigantic proportions regardless of the politics involved.
Our leaders---the two highest ranking public officials in our government---- not only lied this country into a war without provocation against Iraq, but they also covered up their dark deeds. I think we all know who I am referring to------the idiot who continues to cavort around the country hawking his amateurish water color paintings and his totally evil partner in crime who I still see on news shows giving his commentary on this country's foreign policy.
These two creatures authorized the torture in the first place. In fact, they have admitted to torturing detainees which is a war crime, but this country's leaders don't have the guts to charge and try them for their crimes.
I do prison reform work and I work on behalf of the families who have no voice. Just last week, one of the families I work with had a young man who was sentenced to prison for 15 years for talking to a 14 year old over the internet.
The young man was 19 years old-----and there was no 14 year old young lady, but only a cop using a form of entrapment to snare the young man.
Several weeks back, I did some work on the behalf of a young man who, during the War on Drugs, received 30 years on a marijuana possession charge.
Yet, we cannot prosecute war criminals who have stained America with their deeds.
This latest revelation regarding our foray into torture in this country is a total slap in the face to all those in prison who are either innocent or serving sentences which in no way fit their crime.
I could write all day and fill this entire forum with examples of the pain and misery that injustices have created in this country in our prison or criminal justice system, yet we cannot prosecute a group of admitted war criminals.
I am ashamed of this country.

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

Well, good morning to you!Today is National Roller Coaster Day. Are any of you going? It's also National Tell-A-Joke Day! Come up with some and share!I'm not bright with jokes these days, but I'll start:"Today I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon...I'll let you know." :D

I know it's not the same level as life sentences, but it's just as wrong. This judge forced the same ruling all the way up to the state supreme court...and I'm appalled at the wrongness here.
I'm ashamed of the way our justice system is turning into a ... and leaving honor aside.
I don't know either of the men you're talking about. But my guess is that they didn't come from the 1%.
Our govt is just as bad... Making Guantanamo Bay the bad guy was so slick..."We don't know what they do there and it has nothing to do with us"... Sad but true and people want to buy it as long as it doesn't effect their lives
There is evil in the world and I think the best that can be done is to try and expose it and call it like it is... Stay on top of it as much as possible
I'm very sorry to 'hear' that that young man is imprisoned ... Things have gone from one extreme to another R... When I was young woman were put on trial as being sluts if they were raped and that was awful NOW things have gone to anther extreme
I also think people make money on prisons... Another reason for keeping them full as awful as that is
