I was watching my husband walk through the kitchen the other day and the thought came to me. "When was the last time I was able to freely move like that...?". I've been dealing with chronic pain for 8 yrs now. After suffering enough additional pain from NOT accepting my limitations (boy, that's a tough one) and trying to plow the north forty over and over again, I am more comfortable today giving myself the mornings off, lol. But sometimes still, I wonder if maybe today I can plow that damned field.......
I had to learn acceptance of not doing so much in the mornings and putting things off that I want to get done and I hated it at first; now I just accept it's part of my life.
I know it's not easy as we do become creatures of habit and I know you enjoyed your mornings a lot. Find a new time that is just for you to enjoy if it can no longer be the mornings. I've found late evenings work great for me and if my pain is controlled enough, I might sleep 6 to 7 hours without waking up if I'm lucky.
My coffee used to be around 6 and it's become a 9 to 10AM ritual now. I do less before Noon than anyone in the Military all day I'm sure.
Sometimes it's taking it one moment at a time vs one day at a time; I guess I've just gotten used to it.
Other days I'm up at 4AM and can't go back to sleep and seem to pay for that worse than sleeping later.
I know how hard it is to ever find any happy medium while living with chronic pain.
Hugs,
Rhonda
I don't think there is a magical relief to this, but I've tried and keep trying to pray right away in the morning. Praying for strength to get through the day, thanking Jesus for the new day that He has given me and pray for my friends and family to get the focus off of me. It does actually help getting me going in a positive manner and ending up having a better day. Joyce Meyers has great books on daily devotions, and alot of times I put them on the discussion board. You are more than welcome to read them and see how they change your day (morning). God bless you and I will pray for you.
