My oldest is also a master plumber and revived the business that was started by my Grandfather in 1935. He's amazingly smart and is a self taught business whiz. I can't believe what he's accomplished at his age. He and his wife married young and have two gorgeous kids...I know I might be a little predudiced, but they are smart as hell and are learning so much from being a part of all this.
My 11 year old Grandaughter is so mature and caring. She immediately took over the care of Ricky and lugged him around the whole time I was there. If I knew how to put a picture on here I could show you how beautiful this little girl is...long, blonde wavy hair and a face as beautiful as a doll!
The whole (very small) town had such a festive atmosphere with tent sales and a parade going on. The weather was picture perfect and I loved being a part of it...even with the pain. I brought a blueberry buckle for them which they all love. It's always a huge treat when I muster up the strength to make that for them.
Glad I went even though I paid for it later. I had a terrible time getting to sleep last night because of my pain level and got up at 2:30 this morning with the same problem.
Today starts my workweek and I'm not quite sure how I'm going to pull it off with such a rough start to my day, but I will...I try not to give in to the pain, but occasionally have to reschedule people out of necessity. But I HAVE to make a living!
Sorry for rambling, but it's a little depressing when I get so little sleep and wake before any rooster would even consider crowing!
Hope all my friends start off with less pain than I'm experiencing,
Cherry (done babbling...really)
I am so glad that you went to your son's grand opening! It is so important, that despite our own pain...we celebrate others and their accomplishments. It also sounds like your son is tuned into your needs, which is a good thing.
I am sorry that you hurt and we all understand how tiring it is to constantly have to face extra pain for just little bits of "normal" time---but, it is that "normal" time that allows to experience joy and gives us the ability to find some happiness with those that we love or just ourselves.
My mom said to me the other day after I had offered to do the dishes (this is done, sitting in my walker with my head resting on my right shoulder) "Honey, I don't want you to do anything that is going to hurt your back" ........I looked at her, with sadness and compassion and I said "Mom, if I did not do anything that would hurt my back, I would never get out of bed."
She realized at that moment how every moment of everyday is a struggle for me and I will always have to push through the pain. Some days...pushing through means I have had a bath and that is it...some days, I am able to help out more around the house and maybe do some shopping in my scooter. Everyday is different and you just have to do what you can, when you can...it is important to others, to your son, that you shared in his joy too! I am proud of you and your pain will subside. I am also so proud of your son, it sounds like he is doing good things with his life and it also seems that he is a good son-attentive to his mom.
HUGS my friend.
