Does anyone deal with this. Its where the finger will lock in the joint and its hard for the finger to strighten back out. I was wondering if using a finger splint would help with it especially when I am sleeping. that way I don't keep waking up to a finger I have to use my other hand to strighten.

I have had that happen here and there my whole life. I also have times when my fingers spasm. Not sure the splint would help as that would weaken the muscles. Does it go away after you straigten the finger?

my mom has this problem due to her RA, she's never worn a brace or splint but then again she avoids docters like the plauge lol

Its common with RA i just dont' know how to fix it. you can always as the doc

1littleB it doesn't stop it happens every time I bend my finger. I try not to bend it but I find myself doing it without even realizing it. Sometimes I have to use my other had to make it stright again. Its really annoying the joys of RA lol.

Yes I have that from time to time in my two middle fingers on my right hand - it ie really hard especially when the tech says make fists to get the vein up for blood tests.
Mine is from osteoarthritis they tell me - I am not so sure as I think I might have both with the OA predominant.
