My granddaughter Addie got off the bus Thurs. and I was watching her thru the window. She had in her hand a bunny face on a stick that she had made in class that day. All through the yard she hopped along like a bunny with the biggest smile on her face. The simple things of young like that energy just make my day.
She came into the house and gave me my hugs. I was flaring up bad and told her she needs to be extra careful with her Meemaw today. She told me " Meemaw I sure wish you could feel better and feel good all the time". Aww she just melted my heart. What a sweetie she is. She just turned 7 in Nov.
Looking forward to hearing more stories,
Toni
OK...When my little duck (who talks like Elmer Fudd) was little she could not sleep a lot at night. Nothing has really changed actually!
Anyway...I would hear her little thighs rubbing together and her diaper crinkling on the stairs. She would be trying to be so quiet...Like a bull moose in a china shop...but, she still tried! I would try and wait a little bit to see if she would waddle back up to bed to no luck.
Finally, I would say quietly...TeeTaw, you can come down baby... Down she would waddle, red hair sticking all over the place. She would run into my lap and say ...I haz a pwesent fo you mommy. Then, in my hand, she would place a little pile of dirty clothes. She would get a face just like Christmas morning as I unwrapped the "gift". Inside would be a toy from her room. She did this for a few years, wrapping up a toy in dirty clothes in order to get to come down stairs.

Now, my son was looking outside the other day at another day of Portland rain. His sister and he were being their usual sarcastic selves and we were all laughing.
He gives his sister a verbal lashing and she comes back in the most sincerely evil voice possible "Hey mom, have you seen my voodoo doll around?" We all laugh
Then, she says to me...I wish we could go outside for a scooter with the dogs...All of the sudden, out of nowhere without dropping a beat, my son said "Well Posidon, as soon as you are done making everyone as unhappy as you are ...the sun will shine again!"
O M G !!! I was dying in laughter. She looked stunned *HEEHEE, You got served baby!!* Now, he has been telling her to get her tridend outta her butt!
LOL, I love my kids!
One thats been happeining lately is mikey is learning how to do buttons and zippers snaps on his clothes, so anytime i zip my pants or button my shirt i get a "good job mommy" with applause.
