I've been trying to endure pain that is getting worse every day. I have two new issues that are pretty much ruining every waking moment. Each should be treaed, but nohing has been done, yet.
I talked to the nurse at the end of the day and all the doc had told her was that she'd write the script I need, but someone has to drive over and pick it up...30 minutes each way. She also refused to increase the new med I'm using even though my pain is out of control. She's only in the clinic 2 days a week and I found out she'll only be there for half a day next week!
She's the one who ordered me to stop working and said she wanted me on disability. I asked her nurse to request a letter for me to bring to my disability appt. and she said she thought she was too busy!
How the heck am I going to get the referral to the surgeon the ER doc wants me to see? It feels like she's thrown me to the woles because she doesn't know what to do.

I agree with Irocket. The nurse may not realize the relationship you have with your doc and she is covering for her...good nurses do that...militant nurses to it better! LOL
Most doctors offices have an email portal for their patients to leave a comment, presription request or make an appointment....see if her office has this available. You may have to get the initial log on and password from the medical group providing the doctors services.
Also...If needed...I would absolutely go down to the doctors office and request the information in person on a day that you know she is there. That way, if the nurse is being too difficult, you can bypass her and get it to the doc.
As far as upping your medication....it is not unusual for docs to wait several weeks on a new medication before tweaking it. Some medications take a while to get into your system and to "build up". Many pain medications are like this. Give it some time and just do the best you can to deal with the pain.
Also...and last, I promise, if you are filing for disability and are wanting the note for that reason...it won't do any good. It can't hurt, but a note from your doctor saying you "can't work" is the equivalent to shopping list for social security. If you are filing for social security...they will contact your doc for all information.
Social security disabilty analysts look at your function capacity and grid informaion to determine if you can't work part ime even. Here are some links that might be helpful to you for educational purposes.

i think what you have is normal doc patient stuff and if its a bother to him he shouldn't be a doctor
