What a great week I had. We were camping and I got to spend all day every day with my best friend. We figured out we've been friends for 22 years - more like sisters. Her family owns about 2 acres of land that has a small river around 3 sides. It is a well equipped camp ground for private family use only (and invited guests). The only problem with the whole experience was the mosquitoes. They were quite bad at times and we were forced to spray ourselves and wear long pants and jackets at times. They have mosquito machines that are supposed to catch and kill them but turns out one wasn't working at all while we were there.
We had a few nice camp fires around a big fire pit and cooked all our meals together. The kids had the play equipment, water guns, games, all kinds of balls, and the great outdoors - it was nice to see these apartment bound city kids run and play day after day. We all got lots of sun and fresh air. Oh and I got to do laundry like I never did before - in an old ringer washer. They have one, in perfect working condition, outside the washroom building. My friend and I had so much fun doing laundry, who would have thought!
I don't think bf enjoyed it as much as I did but he is a good sport and got along great with my friend's husband. My pain levels were quite reasonable the whole time. Things would set off the pain but it didn't usually take long to rest up and get back on my feet.
We might have stayed longer but we have some serious cleaning to do at home. I came into town for appointments on Monday so stopped at home to do a few things. I went to take the bedding off bf's son's bed and it was infested with bedbugs - really bad!! So gross! I never saw anything like it so I'm sure all these times he has insisted he cleaned his room and changed his bed he didn't. Boys his age just don't care so now we have to get in there and deep clean the whole room. I hate bedbugs soooooo much!!
I had my appointment with my pm doc on Monday. Nothing really changed at all. Physio is set up for 4 more weeks so I'm just going to suck it up and go. We talked alot about my insurance and how it hasn't come through since he said I don't need another MRI. He is willing to talk to them about it but wants to have their refusal in writing with the reason why so he can be prepared to counter all their points. It is great that he is willing to do this for me so at this point I don't have to get a lawyer yet. Dr just asked for one report he doesn't' have a copy of, from a specialist, and the written refusal from insurance and he will review them all and do whatever he can.
The only 'issue' I discussed with the doctor is my failing memory. Its not just forgetting to do things or remember stuff at the store but I have what I can only refer to as 'holes' in my memory. Complete loss of time, no recollection of things people said to me, place I was or requests from bf or others. It is kind of scary when I realized that I had no recollection of driving through a particular area on our way to town - there was construction and apparently we waited at a red light for some time... To me its like we were never there., can't even imagine how we got to town as this is the only road to get there. All the doc asked was 'were you driving?'. I said 'No I wasn't' and he said 'good - don't'. So I am limited to only drive in town to go to appointments and other short trips; I need a driver for longer trips and he suggested a notebook to write things down so I can't forget. I have been using the notebook for a while now.
Oh dear, falling asleep at the keyboard now so I better stop. Wishing you all a good night sleep and a minimal pain day tomorrow. Hugs and peace, ssLisa
