Well I got the call from the surgeons office and I will meet with him in one week to discuss the surgery for my Boston Scientific permanent spinal cord stimulator. Most of you know I had some issues with w/c to get the trial approved, but they have been very good in getting the ball rolling on this.

Please....If you pray, meditate, believe that good things come to those in need, I'm asking for it. I have been suffering for over 2 1/2 years and after getting a taste of that trial SCS, I'm hungry for the implant.

I see the surgeon June 9th for a consult and hopefully schedule a date then. Thanks for your anticipated support.

I hope that it all goes well. The trial unit is working so having the real thing should be even better.

The meeting with the surgeon was great!! I kept a journal of my SCS trial and gave him a copy of my daily progress and pain level improvements. He told me that would be helpful when he writes up his report for the approval to implant the permanent SCS. He talked to me about the operation, said I would be asleep and have an overnight stay at the hospital.

He implied that he couldn't see any reason why we should not move forward. I spoke to my rehab professional today from w/c and she also sounded like it was a go.

Of course the final approval has not been granted, but it seems like a going to happen. Hopefully I'll get a call with an appointment for the surgery next week.

Awesome! And you get to spend the night at the hospital??!!! Wooohooo, I didn't have to do that, but of course all Doctor's are different. Also, let me warned you, during the process of installing your leads, they are going to wake you up and see if they are installing them in the right place, but don't worry, you will go right back to sleep. The anesthesiologist just controls the Versed, and when they are ready with the leads, he will wake you up, and when you say, "yes is good", then he'll put you back to sleep, so no worries!

Wishing you nothing but the best. This was the hardest time for me after the trial and waiting on the surgery. I hope you don't have to wait long.
