Sorry for your pain, Lisa.
I'm in bad shape again and can't seem to sleep more than a few moments at a time. Shortly before lunch yesterday I started having stabbing pain in my lower spine. Worse than I can say it's ever been. The cold weather's not helping either and my knees both feel like someone's hammering nails into them. I've taken a massive amount of my breakthrough meds and still I'm awake and suffering. Looks like a long night ahead.
We had some disapointing news from the school yesterday. The other state honor choir disqaulified everyone from our school because of a mistake the teacher made. I'm disapointed for Victor, the last few years he's always qualified for both and he did so well at the one last week. In a selfish way I'm glad I don't have to travel again but we're all a little bummed over it.
I'm laying on my electric blanket in the recliner and it looks like I'll be spending the night here. Only 3 more hours until I have to get everyone up. Maybe my morning dose will knock me out after everyone's gone. I really seem to be in a bad stretch. It's starting to take its toll on my mood.
I hope the rest of you are in better shape than me today,
Mike
@sadsadLisa>>what a wonderful story of your sweet Noah. These are such precious times. I am sorry you are in so much pain. I understand.
I haven't been real good about poppin in lately. This weather front that has moved across us over the last 2 or 3 days has just done me in. Some of you saw my post. I went to bed with a migraine and awoke to horrible pain. First time in a long time that I have had to resort to taking a pain pill. I had several wonderful friends that talked me through the hour of waiting for the med to kick in. It really did make the time go faster! Thank you all.
I am doing better, just dealing with sinus headaches that are borderline migraine. Common with the type of weather we are having. It has been a really weird winter weather wise.
K had straight A's on her report card! J got a raise! And the new meds my wonderful doc from Oz put me on seem to be helping already. The burning nerve pain, the kind that feels like someone poured gasoline on me and then set me on fire, is way less. Iwould not call it pain now, just discomfort, and it has only been a few days of being on it! Yay!
I am also sleeping better. Where I was getting 2 to 3 hours, I am now getting 5 to 6 hours. Double! So I am going to count this as a success.
My family did decide to move my Grandmother to a nursing home. They are doing some research on different places before making a decision on where. It was not easy, but we want her to be safe and cared for, and she needs more than any of us can give. It still breaks my heart.
I hope everyone has a good day. and finds a reason to smile and laugh today. Saw on NBC Nightly News that research shows that people who laugh more have less chance of heart problems or attacks. So giggle it up folks!
Sending hugs, love, and comfort.
Tonna
I worked too hard yesterday and I'm going to do it again, this morning. At least, I didn't book anything for the afternoon since I knew what Tuesday's schedule was going to do to me.
We had freezing rain/sleet/snow yesterday. Today it's really windy...gusts to 50 mph! It's been a very strange Winter in VT.
I'm quite sure that my pain doesn't compare to what most of you are experiencing so I'm going to stop this whine fest, right now!
Healing hugs,
Cherry....(secretly wishing the power would go out so I could cancel work)
I hope that you who are struggling find some relief.
I have a big day today involving lawyers and my deposition regarding my auto accident. I'm a bit nervous, but I think I'll be OK.
Wishing you all a low pain day.
Big Hugs,
David.
Tonna, glad you are experiencing a reprieve from your rough night. Hope the new meds continue to improve your level of comfort.
Lisa...hope things improve soon.
Mike, sorry to hear about dissapionment for Victor. Sleep is elusive for me too. Been useless last few days. Fighting to not get depressed. Can't find a comfortable position to rest....knocking myself out tonight with sleeping med! Life seems easier after I've had real good sleep.
To everyone else I think of you too, wishing you less pain.
Having further investigations, but failed back surgery is causing other problems that at this stage looks like can only be managed by more meds and less movement! Joke, I hardly do anything anyway! :(
So please forgive the whine. My hubby will be up any minute and I am going back to bed. Fortunately, I do not have to be anywhere until 10.
Thinking of all of you. I thought I posted yesterday 1/17 but I guess no....it was the same story....
Big gentle hugs.
Melinda
I had a rough night with the wild wind blowing all around the house.... a bit nerve-wracking. But at least I wasn't kept up by the pain for a change! lol
So I'll take it easy cause when I'm the least bit tired, anything can flare up my back. So, the vacuuming will have to be postponed. (washing my hair this morning already did it).
I hope everyone gets better sleep. It's so hard to deal with fatigue when already in CP.
Winter will be over soon.
Take care,
Ama
Sorry I didn't make our "morning coffee check-in" yesterday. We both had doc appts which takes so long. Had to get up very early, take care of all dogs and pups, then hit the road for the 45 min drive. I love our FNP but know that we'll be there for at least 2 hrs. She's worth the wait as she takes time w/ ea. patient. We don't go back for 4 mo. and will have Medicare by then. So we'll do a much needed bloodwork and a new plan of care!!
@ Manny: OMG baby birds. Did you do anything to help them hatch or did Mother Nature do her thing? I've never seen infant birds. Must be fascinating!!! Please take pics and post them.
@ Mike - so sad that your pain is so much worse. Hubby goes through similar bouts and its awful. The weather seems to really affect both of us. And of course, when we overdo (like hauling wood) we pay the price!! No choice really. I hope you catch a break and can get some sleep. Healing, deep sleep helps me more than anything.
@ Ducky, - you sounded like you're feeling better, my friend!! I was worried abt. you for a few days. When the Duck isn't barely Quacking, I know she's having a rough time!! Here in the South, everything shuts down if we have 3 or 4 INCHES of snow!! I do hope we get one before my son goes back but it doesn't look promising.
Today, we have to appts, pressures or demands upon us other than taking care of pups. Tomorrow, Hubby must take his Mom for Gallbladder surgery which means I'll be doing canine care both down here and walk/check on MIL's mini-border collie. He's a good guy but full of nervous energy. He needs more exercise. Another thing on my list, take him on more walks w/ my guys.
For those of you who need some healing sleep, may you rest deeply and heal tonight!!

Yesterday was glorious...very low pain day and no spasms since early morning. It was a wonderful reprieve.
I am still not sleeping well but, I refuse to give up hope. This morning however...sucks. I am in bed, hoping for sleep. My butt is on pins and needles and, I have a headache that would kill an elephant.
HUGS and love tyou all.
Duckie
Minnie, if you need to make a separate post for this to get support please do. We love you! I can't even imagine what you are saying here.... I love you and pray for you. Big hugs.
