One word of caution if you are not ready do not go back to work it will not be easy to go back out once you go back and will cause lots of problems if you are not ready file for an extension now and get a doctor to sign off hell with the insurance for work mans comp they want you back weather you are ready or not do not let them dictate to you when you are ready you tell them and take as long as you can without getting fired.
How long have you been out and what for if you dont mind me asking? I was a manager for a Restaurant and had to deal with workmans comp for my employees and then eventually me and they will send you return to work dates and you just have to tell them no your doctor wants you out for a bit longer. They have to send out these letters it is sort of automatic and it is up to you to counter that if you need to. The only key is that you will eventually be back you can not tell them you are out permanently you just need to keep pushing the date back till it exhaust. But only take what you need as it will hurt your credibility with your company you work with if you milk it to long. But going back to early works for nobody as you will not be 100% and they will be paying you for substandard work. Your company has insurance and pays work mans comp no matter what so they are loosing no money if you are out but will loose money if you go back not ready.
Work mans comp who is your jobs insurance is the one loosing money and they have no investment in you so they just want you back this will only hurt you and your company if you go to soon.
I hope that your flare will level out and, provide you an opportunity for some real rest.
HUGS
As Manny said W/C is a "tricky wicket" and to go back before you are ready may not be to your best interest. For some reason I thought you were on Disability insurance and not W/C. In my mind I believe disability insurance pays for a lifetime if you are unable to perform the job you were doing. There is short
term and long term.
No answers just want you to know I am keeping you in my thoughts and wishing you healing from the flare.

I'm glad you have back up doctors, that isn't always an easy thing to find.
Sending you hope and prayers,
Toni
The doctor mess is the worst part right now. Its just really bad timing. She has a doctor taking over her practice so I will have another family doctor but she's not arriving until July so I have 6 months to get through. I will call the pain clinic on Monday and get back in there so I have someone following me that knows what is going on. I'm not sure if my PM doc can/will take care of paperwork and doctor's notes - that was always my pcp. If he won't I will make an appointment to see my bf's doctor and talk it over with him. I know I'm not stuck but I hate to have to explain everything to someone new and hope he has the same philosophy as my old doc (or better).
As far as my pain it is easing up a bit now. I think missing my pills last weekend set it off. I've had a busy week but trying to take it easy at the same time. Physio has been tough and I've had to cut back on some things but I'm still pushing through it. Only three more weeks. My doctor said that unless I get worse before then I should make the attempt to go back but let them know immediately if I am unable to keep it up. I understand that if I even get to half time they will expect me to work part time but my employer won't allow it. Its kind of a messy situation, I will be glad when I'm past it either way. I'd love to be able to work full time without pain, that would be heaven, but I know I can't right now. Insurance told me it is basically up to my physiotherapist to decide when I'm ready so I'm glad I have a good relationship with him. Having to cut back this week sent a message for sure. He's talking a couple more months before trying the gradual return, we'll discuss it more this week.
Take care everyone, hope you are having a nice holiday, Hugs all around

I can relate a bit because i was diagnosed with fibro for a few years before i was told that i have raynauds in my hands and feet and granulomas in my spine and inflamatory arthritis from my sarcoidosis. Now about half my docs say i still have fibro and about have say i don't. I honestly think i don't and that the sarcoid is responsitible for my pain. I think with being able to tell if you still have fibro or not if you already have a different primary diagnosis that fibro go with your gut instinct cause i don't think the doctors can really tell us. Like if your primary condition goes into remission or your back surgery has been healed for a few years yet you still have widespread muscle and joint pain and skin and noise sensitivieties, then you probably have fibro.
oh i just red your 2nd entry!!! i'm glad your pain is easing up!!! when i forget to take my long acting med i feel like crap for a good 3 or 4 days!
alot of us here have had to stop working, i'm glad you were able to get on disability cause alot of us have been denied and its a long ugly process.
i hope your appoitments wind down and you pain eases soon.
