There was a S and S reunion in Cape Geraudeau, MO either in 2007 or 08. A fellow accountant and his wife came through Norman and took my mother. She had a wonderful trip, reminissing with her dear friends. She saw Andy Rooney at dinner but didn't approach him but then they met in the elevator. He said hello and asked what she did for Stars and Stripes. He was a gentleman and held the elevator door.
I loved his humor. What a life he lived. I was sad when he passed this year but I know he was tired. He made CBS and 60 minutes....doubt there will ever be another one of his stature. He was as down to earth as the rest of us.
