I cant say no. I'm not allowed to say no. My team can say no to me. Other teams can say no and pick and choose but I am the last resort for anything that is an ask at our company. I can't say, "no that should be someone else's problem"
My bosses solutions have been to add project managers to help watch what I do which results in more meetings and status updates on my calendar.
I'm blessed with an 18 person team all of whom report directly to me and any project however long the timeline or however soon the deadline can be tossed at me, a PM assigned and I have to attend more meetings and be completely and wholly responsible for every deliverable.
I hate it I never enter a meeting where there is not a list of things I'm late with and people desperately waiting for me to attend. I can't skip anything and anyone at any time can add any project they want without any recourse for me to try and fit it in or have a timeline.
This all adds to my desire to take a trip to San Fransisco
It's actually a good thing that you're learning about those videos about the suicides on the bridge. I remember watching those videos a long time ago. Surprisingly, there were people who survived their atrempts on the bridge. It felt relatable to learn about someone else who also wanted to end their pain.
It sounds like you also want to just end your pain. Whatever happens, I hope you feel better.
