I have had a sweet tooth my entire life. When around carbs, or sugar, I feel as though all control is lost and I just have to eat. I find myself running to bakeries, and grocery stores the moment I have money in my pocket. I could buy three packages of Oreos, and eat them all in under an hour. I hate myself for it afterwards. I hate the way it makes my body feel, I hate the way I can't stop myself, and I hate what it does to my moods. I don't want to do what I do. I am ashamed of myself for it. I could never admit this to my parents or friends. Even sharing it with my therapist is hard. I guess i just wanted to know if anyone else can relate to this... thanks.
I definitely relate. I've been able to make a lot of changes in my eating but I still felt out of control. Especially with sugar and white carbs. I'm doing a sugar recovery program and I've been doing great really, but have really struggled the past couple of days. Today I broke the sugar fast and threw up and felt terrible, physically and emotionally. I feel more determined now but I know there will be weak days ahead and I really need to find support.
