Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is any sudden and unexplained death of an apparently healthy infant aged one month to one year. SIDS is responsible for roughly 50 deaths per 100,000 births in the US.

Weekend Getaway

I know you guys are tired of seeing my posts but I need this so, even If I dont get a response, its ok, as long as its not staying in me. Well John and I celebrated our 4 yr wedding anniversary yesterday. Couldnt help but feel so gloomy. John has been so good to me this week and in the past 6 years of our relationship. Sometimes I really feel I dont deserve him. Any ways we decided that Saturday (11/12/11) we are taking a 3 hour road trip to Chatanooga, TN. We are going to Ruby Falls and the Aqurium (sp). I am so excited to get away for the day, but also very gloomed that Collin isnt here with us. My linsey needs a family trip, well we all do. I am hoping and praying everything goes GREAT!!!! sometimes our planned adventures turn to disaters,lol. But I love it all the same, I would rather have the diater of a trip rather than no trip at all. Man, God has really opened my eyes and what is really important in my life. Yesterday the clerk at the gas station said something like .....It alsmost the end of the year...." Man for some reason that hit me hard, im nearing the corner of the 6 month anniversay, I dont get it, it still feels like is was ysterday. anways, I want to hear yalls first "WEEKEND Getaway stories or Vacations after the loss of your child. Parying for all of you, I love yall!!! "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."

Sweetie, we never get tired of seeing posts. It's what we're here for! Our first weekend away was this summer to see Kingdom Bound. It's a Christian music festival held at the Darien Lake theme park each year. It was 5 months, almost to the day, from when we lost Charlotte. It was nice to get away and do something completely different, although at times I felt a little guilty being happy while knowing that if we still had Charlotte we wouldn't have been able to go. I know she'd want us to be happy though. I cried a lot during the concerts, but 10th Avenue North and Casting Crowns were headlining while we were there and they have some pretty powerful music.
We're thinking about maybe taking a weekend bus trip to New York City for our next adventure before our new little one comes along.

I do 2 girls weekends every year in June & September. Kaitlyn passed in May 2009. That June I was seriously considering canceling but i didn't. It was so nice being with the girls (family & friends). They kept me occupied & when I was sad they sat with me & cried with me. Of course i was still crying myself to sleep almost every night but that was expected. I hope you have a good time & that the disasters stay away.

I waited 2 months B4 I could get my get-a-way.....went to Florida with Family & just a while lotta of R&R took place! It felt real nice!! You need that too....have a GREAT time!!

Man after reading some of my posts, you can see the emotionaly roller coaster in my writing, funny how you cant hide whats happened even over a computer. Anyways Im kinda nervous. Tennessee has good memories for me and John, we went to gatlinburg after we got married. So i think it will be nice to go there, we havent went since we got married. Linsey is so precious, I want to post more pics of me and my family. I think I will once we back from our trip. I am really begining to enjoy this site. at first I just read everyones post, then I decided to write my own. now it seems I cant stop,lol! man.....:( sigh...... Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Well no weekend getaway after all :( John was told he has to work tomorrow. Like I said most "planned" trip/events are a disater. Im really upset that we dont get to go, my bubble has kind of been popped.

I'm sorry you didn't get to take your trip, but don't give up. Plan it for another weekend very soon. My hubby and I took a weekend camping trip about a month after Austin died and it was very helpful. We live in a small town and it was nice to get away from all the "Pitty looks" from everyone and the everyday routine that no longer had Austin in it.

Most def. It just kinda sucks, there is a place called the Ramp in alabama. Its part of Karen Wheatons ministry. Youtube "the ramp worship team" We had planned on going in october and for the first time ever Karen felt led by God to cancel the conference John and I were going to. Makes me wonder why God has put a hault on two out of state trips. I was really upset at first, but I knoe God has kept us from leaving town for a reaso, just not sure why! I think we may just save our money, We are wanting to go on an Alaskan cruise next year in may sometime. So we will just save up for that,lol!
