Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is any sudden and unexplained death of an apparently healthy infant aged one month to one year. SIDS is responsible for roughly 50 deaths per 100,000 births in the US.

Okay everyone. I know many of us are ready for 2009 to be over... and are hoping that 2010 will be a kinder gentler year. Many of us are depressed and don't want to do anything fun, or feel guilty when we do something for ourselves that might take our minds off of the pain we have experienced. So this New Year, lets all try to do something special and fun; make it something you don't normally do for New Years. So think about it .... what will be your New Years gift to yourself? Maybe its something you haven't done in a while, or something you've never done but always wanted to do. Maybe its something you will do with family or friends, or with your significant other, or maybe you just need to spend some time alone doing something for yourself.

Share your "New Years Gift to Yourself" on this discussion post and report back once you've completed it. I hope everyone will participate... it doesn't have to be anything big, just so long as its something for you.

So on New Years Eve our town does fireworks over the water. I'm going to go... I haven't been since I was a kid. I'm also going to take some New Years accessories (hat, horn, etc.) to the cemetery for Austin. On New Years day, I'm going to get online and order something for the new baby. I'm not exactly ready to go through the baby department at stores, but I miss shopping for baby stuff and I'm determined to have more faith than fear! Then on Saturday, I'm getting a pedicure, and boy, my feet sure could use it!

I am going to get a manicure and pedicure too. I am trying...but last year we had a little party for Audrey and our friends and their son. Audrey wore a tiara and a tutu and it was just a great night. I'm crying as I type this...I miss that girl so much. Sorry i think that I spoiled the thread.

I can't really think of anything to do, the closest thing I could think of was a boring one, lol. I might just stay home and watch movies from Netflix with Andy. Hopefully that'll relieve some of the tension between us lately.

January 1st is my birthday. We usually hang out with the family and go out to eat. So, I think we will do that at some point and do the cake and presents things. I want to have a dinner and a movie date with my hubby though. I'd also like to have my hair cut. I have a lot of plans. I think we will do the dinner movie, haircut on New Year's Eve and then dinner and cake with the family on New Year's Day.

I've been toying with getting a new hair style & color. Haven't found anything that I love yet but I'm getting ideas. I keep telling Terry I hate my hair and I'm just going to get my head shaved but I don't think I have the guts to go through with it. Terry gave me a gift card for a spa too so I'll probably do either a pedi/mani or massage.

We'll were having 16 people over for a dinner party tomorrow night. That will keep me busy and my mind off of things for a while. I'm definately getting my nails done because they look like hell. And on New Years day I'm going to start planning our trip to Argentina in Oct. that I didnt think I'd be able to go on but now I will. I just want positive things to look forward too (and that actually will happen) in 2010. So long 2009!

Amanda: I think its wonderful that Audrey wore a tiara and a tutu. Maybe she will send you an angel kiss when the clock strikes 12!

Ashley: My favorite thing to do is to spend a night in watching with movies with my hubby.

Wanda and Steph: Can't wait to see pics of the new hair cuts!
