Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Support Group
Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is any sudden and unexplained death of an apparently healthy infant aged one month to one year. SIDS is responsible for roughly 50 deaths per 100,000 births in the US.
And it's all a bunch of bull to say co-sleeping is linked to SIDS. Bull, bull, bull!!!!!!! I wasn't co-sleeping and Isaiah died. I know plenty of people who did co-sleep and their children are alive. It just makes me so angry that no one knows what causes SIDS but so many blab the crap about preventing and reducing the risk. How can you prevent or reduce the risk of something that has no known cause?
a) these deaths weren't SIDS and either get mislabeled or in the one case, not labeled at all
or
b) these deaths are SIDS and therefore co-sleeping or not co-sleeping would't have made a difference
To lump them together and say that they were both SIDS and caused by co-sleeping is irresponsibe on the part of the media. Like that's new...
