Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is any sudden and unexplained death of an apparently healthy infant aged one month to one year. SIDS is responsible for roughly 50 deaths per 100,000 births in the US.

Does anyone have any infant loss blogs they have that they are willing to share. I love reading everyones journals but I now there are alot of you with blog sites and I would love to have the links to them to read if anyone is open to that. It seems to really help me on my good and bad days. Or any poetry sites, blogs or journals that might be helpful.

Also any blogs on subsequent rainbows after infant loss blogs or poems would be great too. Its just nice to be able to relate to others and let me know Im not going totally crazy... lol

I would love some friend requests too from those who chat more through the journal.

I keep one at http://lifeaftersids.blogspot.com/ Most of it has to do with my personal experience with SIDS but some has research on there, too. I talk a lot about being pregnant with my rainbow baby. I had mixed feelings being pregnant again and a lot of depression during that pregnancy. Just wanted to warn you.

My online friend, Steven, keeps an excellent blog about the loss of his son. It's interesting to get a man's perspectve because usually you don't hear much from that side. His blog is at http://lifeaftersids.blogspot.com/

On his blog he has a lot of links to blogs kept by other SIDS parents so it might give you a good start if you want to play around there.

I have enjoyed reading other people's blogs (for the most part). It's nice to know that there are others out there that feel the same way. Friends and family haven't been real supportive of me and my husband so I rely on you ladies a whole lot.

Neither of my boys passed away from SIDS but Ty was stillborn at 37 weeks and Jacob was born at 36 1/2 weeks and passed away two days later. I do talk about being pregnant with my rainbow but it's not in the best of spirits because we knew at 19 weeks with our rainbow that he would not survive long outside the womb. Thanks for posting the questions, I like to read other blogs of angel moms as well.

Elijah, Try to google Dear Cheyenne, think it is written by Joanne Cacciatore (sp?). Ah, and maybe the Andrew poems, not sure about the name, if nothing comes up, pm me, will add you a a friend now.

Oh, and as I recall BP also links to other blogs, she's just being modest. I read another one called mamajama or something similar. Let me just once more recommend the podcasts from Healing the grieving heart, available on iTunes or fron opentohope.com. Also loads of resources on FB, you're probably already tuned into some.

I like reading other people's blogs, too. Although the new woman is probably going to think that I'm verging on stalker now since I read through a lot of the entries and left a ton of comments. Someone want to back me up and let her know that I"m not totally whacked out? :-P

Bledpub - ha ha ha, nothing wrong with being a bit of a stalker. You are the better kind of stalker than I. I read blogs all the time and do not leave messages (I am trying to improve). Maxiesmom - I did read your blog as well. We are all different but I feel like we have one of the most important parts of the "new us" in common, losing a child creates a stong bond to people that would otherwise be strangers. I feel closer to many of you that I have never met than I do many of the people in my life I have known for years.
