I have been high stress for quite some time. I am a working mom of three. It didn't really affect me physically or anything until about 5 months ago. I hit my head and suffered a concussion. From that, I began to experience anxiety. Saw a therapist who said it seems the concussion was the trigger of the anxiety which is present due to stress. So much happened in that period of time that it became horrible and now I suffer the physical symptoms of it all. I get headaches and back aches pretty much daily, had gastritis, weight loss, and, now hair loss. Stress is no joke. I am on a journey to destressing my life but still find i suffer the physical symptoms. Has anyone ever dealt with the symptoms? If so, how long after you destress your life, did the symptoms take to fade, or did they not?

Hi! I have absolutely suffered from the physical aspects of stress, and unfortunately still do. I know how frustrating it is to feel as though you are handling the stress in life perfectly only to be reminded that you are stressed by the physical symptoms. I do meditation and deep breathing exercises throughout the day and it seems to help me quite a bit. The problem is trying to stay calm when everything around you is chaotic! Also, do you have time to decompress each day, by yourself? I highly recommend a yoga class or a hot bubble bath, something where you can just have a few moments to yourself to help destress. The physical symptoms absolutely fade, unfortunately I cannot tell you a specific time in which they do. I know that for me, I always get physical symptoms after the really stressful situation. I really wish the best for you and hope that you are able to find some peace!

Thank you for your post. I try to get in my alone time. I am working mom of three boys so that is a challenge within itself but baths have become a norm for me at night now. I do like them. I would really love to learn to meditate. All my docs advise me to do so. Did you take a class?

Has your doctor ruled out possible after-effects from the concussion as being part of the problem? I'd hate to think that you're suffering needlessly if it might be physical

The doctors have told me the headaches and vertigo type symptoms could be from the concussion but the headaches could also be from too much stress, which I tend to think that is the case. I do think the vertigo type symptoms are from the concussion. Ugh.
