A good friend to laugh with and just plain cut up with is great for lifting the spirit. Other things I do often are walking, it is good for my body and will help, but doesn't necessary calm my mind. Music will lift my mood. A good movie I can really get into helps me totally relax because then I forget my stresses. Like I mentioned in a recent previous post yoga is very beneficial, my goal to do daily.
I have in the past tried herbs when I know there will be a few months of non stop stress.
To cut my situation-caused severe isolation I developed a hobby so I could give readings so people would come over. They've started trickling in, and its amazing how much difference even two such visits a week make to my mood.
I'm looking for more ideas though.
