Hello, everyone!
I am new to this website, but of course to this group (I feel like I've been posting a lot everywhere, but I like exploring my horizons I guess. I don't want anyone thinking I'm annoying).
Question: have you guys ever noticed a difference in size of your pupil during stress/anxiety/panic attacks?
Mine always dilate when I'm in that state, so I want to know if you guys do have that same response, as well.

I think there are numerous medical conditions that can be exacerbated by an anxiety attack that could cause dilated pupils. I would talk to your doctor if you want to ensure you get a confirmed diagnosis of why you are experiencing this symptom.

Yeah, I'll probably end up going to more doctors. I already saw every doctor in the book, including a neurologist and eye doctor which both found nothing wrong. People say it could be a fear reaction, but I'm a hypochondriac.

I have experience this myself. I'm not sure if it's the racing heartbeat, the rise in blood pressure or the surge of endorphins that course though you that cause the dilation of pupils during anxiety. I've had people ask if I was using self medicating substances before. I love my coffee but cone on now! Lol I think there's something worth looking into w/this.

It could definitely be the surge of endorphins. I did a bit of research and basically a trigger or once your fight-or-flight response goes into action, it's highly possible your dilates can pupil. I had the same experience as you though! My one therapist I had thought I was on drugs when he simply just made me nervous as hell, like my anxiety would go up 20x more during and after our sessions. It was an interesting read to find all this research on what your body does during stress.

Lmao. I meant it's highly possible your pupils can dilate. Speaking of coffee, I think the amount of coffee I just had is affecting my ability to speak, read, or think critically at the moment, haha.
