To new Angel moms who are wondering when they will get back to normal:
I love my daughter Sophia. I miss her everyday. But somehow I feel more human lately. I feel like everyday a little piece of my shattered heart/soul/identity is restored. It's hard, but everyday lately that I wake up and try hard to get through the usual stress and work and ...life, I find myself returning to a more "normal" way of life.
It's almost as if I'm waking up. Honestly, to those of you who are just getting into this nightmare and who are feeling like this is a dream, I can tell you now (6 1/2 months later) that you do in a SENSE wake up. Not the way you want to, but where you start to feel again. I still have bad days, and I still feel lost alot. But the guilt eases, and the mourning takes on a different meaning.
But to the new angel moms here, please dont feel alone, or like you're crazy. You're entitled to feel/act just as crazy as you want. Take the roller coaster on every high and low and do what you can to make it through. When people tell you to "get over it" flip them the bird and keep moving. It's all we can do. There is a light at the end of the rainbow. Good luck, my prayers are with you.

Right now, this is all too raw and fresh for you. Try not to give yourself any timelines. Do whatever you need to do to get through every minute. Eventually, the minutes will move to partial hours, then hours, etc. This is an emotional roller coaster from hell. Just hang in there. Use every resource and friend you have to talk about Jacob, keep Jacob's memory alive, and whatever else it is you need. I found that every single person in my life including this wonderful site and beautiful Angel Moms played a role in my getting through the days. I would say my normal has never returned, but I am learning to live a new normal. Hugs, thinking of your sweet Jacob, Stacy
