Stillbirth Support Group
This community is dedicated to those who have been impacted by a stillbirth. A stillbirth occurs when a fetus which has died in the uterus, during labor, or during delivery exits a woman's body. For help and support, share your experiences and learn how others coped. Don't forget that you are not alone.
Once again, like your flashbacks, this sense of dread that your loved ones are in danger is also a symptom of PTSD.
I was getting those thoughts to.
You need to tell yourself that those thoughts are not reality. It is normal for you to fear for the safety of your family when one of your family has died, but this does not mean the rest of your family ARE actually going to.
Counselling will help you to develop an inner voice that calms you, that tells you these things aren't real, that re-assures you.
Because I've previously had counselling for PTSD, I recognised those thoughts for what they were when I started having them after my son died.
I just have to tell myself "It's ok, they are ok". Af first it was really hard, and I had to tell myself over and over! You need to interrupt the thought pattern, don't let it run unchecked, you know?
Counselling is probably needed. It's terrible to live with those symptoms- flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks and fearing that your bf or mum are going to die. Counselling will shorten the length of time you experience this stuff for. Not getting help will prolong it.
Praying for you, dear.

Good luck, soon you'll be better.

I've found voicing them makes me feel better. I didn't at first because I thought my husband would think I was crazy, but he was calm and reassuring.
Its getting better for me. Its been 7 weeks.
