I was reading through my posts from Sophia's first angelversary, and I came across this. I just wanted to share.

Are you still breathing?

'cause I just wanted to say I love you.

I dream of your arms around me, your hugs and kisses.

I dream of what your eyes may look like,

an the life you would have had.

If it weren't for my weak body,

you would still be in my arms,

and I could never dream of a world where you could possibly cease to exist,

in everyone's mind but mine.

And in my dreams you're smiling,

happy and alive

You walk in this world and bring me hope and happiness,

the possibilities of your world

confound me

Can you still exist somewhere?

Do you still see my tears,

while my heart aches just to see you...

one second,

one minute of ecstasy,

to be able to hold your frail little body,

that should be young and strong

bouncing around my house.

You should have a lifetime of dreams to fulfill

love to give and children to raise,

instead the day you died, you were born

and you live only in my memory.

Your home is a grave, on the south side of town,

empty and cold among the graves of a hundred babies,

whose mother's cries rise daily

to join mine to float before God.
